Why do we deny our hormones?
A weird thing I’ve discovered in modern day life, etc.: we seem to disdain the idea or the notion that more than what we would like… our hormones change affect the way we feel think behave act and are?
Male vs Female
Gender is sociological, sex is biological.
If you are a female and you experience menstrual cycles from estrogen, certainly your mood or hormones your being will be very different than if you are a man and don’t experience this.

I MIGHT HAVE ENJOYED STUDYING ECONOMICS AS AN UNDERGRADUATE?
seigniorage:
The term “seigniorage” originates from the Old French word “seigneuriage,” a derivative of “seigneur,” meaning “lord” or “master.” The root of this term lies in the feudal system, where the seigneur, or lord, had various rights and privileges, one of which was the authority to mint coins.
In medieval times, the right to coin money was often an exclusive privilege of the sovereign or feudal lord. This privilege allowed the lord to retain the difference between the value of the precious metal in the coins and the nominal value assigned to them. This difference or profit from minting coins came to be known as “seigniorage.”
Over time, as monetary systems evolved, the concept of seigniorage also developed. It shifted from being associated with the profits from minting metal coins to its current understanding in modern economies, where it represents the profit made by governments from issuing currency, especially in fiat money systems.
Thus, the etymology of “seigniorage” reflects its historical roots in feudal systems and its evolution alongside changes in monetary practices and economic structures.

Droit de seigneurage: Value of Coined Money?
Droit de seigneurage- French to English
ancients used their coins to represent their gods — esteemed highly, famous, glorious.
Thoughitisnotknownforcertain,Ibelievethat
in ancient times the expense of coinage was not inÂ
cluded in the value of the coin, because the ancients
firstusedtheircoinedmoneytorepresenttheirgods,
inasmuch as they were esteemed highly as famous and
glorious. It only remains for me to inquire whether or not
the value of coined money must be the same as the value of the metal.First, note that today, it is greater in all principalities — the coin is worth more than the metal, or plate it contains, by the whole expense of coinage, plus a little more, and the prince retains the difference as a right yielded to the mint, which the French call droit de seigneuriagre*The term you’re referring to seems to be a misspelling or a misinterpretation of “droit de seigneurage” or “seigniorage” in English. Seigniorage is a concept in monetary economics that refers to the difference between the value of money and the cost to produce and distribute it.
In a historical context, seigniorage was often a right of the sovereign (the monarch or ruling authority) to make profit from the issuance of currency, especially in times when currencies were physical, like gold or silver coins. The profit came from the difference between the metal’s value and the coin’s face value.
In modern times, where fiat money is prevalent, seigniorage occurs when a government issues currency, particularly paper money. For example, if it costs a government 10 cents to print a $10 bill, the seigniorage is $9.90. This concept is crucial in understanding how central banks can influence economies by controlling the money supply.
For someone interested in philosophy and economics, seigniorage raises intriguing questions about the nature of value and the role of government in creating and sustaining the economic framework. It illustrates how value is not just a matter of inherent worth (like the metal in a coin), but is also significantly shaped by social and political structures. In entrepreneurship, this understanding can be vital, especially in fields like fintech, where the perception of value and trust in currency systems play a critical role.

The passage you provided appears to be in medieval Latin, discussing the use of silver in currency and the creation of lower value coins. Here’s a translation and interpretation of this text in English:
“And since in every region silver is not always sufficiently available, or the small amount of silver that should justly be given for a loaf of bread is less tangible due to its extremely small size, therefore a mixture was made of less valuable material with silver; hence arose black money, which is suitable for small trades.”
This passage talks about the practical issues in using silver, a valuable metal, for everyday transactions like buying bread. Due to the high value of silver, it wasn’t practical to use it for small purchases. To address this, lower value coins were created by mixing silver with less valuable materials. This innovation, referred to as “black money” in the text, made everyday transactions more feasible.
The concept reflects an early understanding of the need for a practical currency system, where different denominations of money are necessary for different scales of trade. It’s an early example of monetary innovation, showing how societies adapt their currency systems to meet the practical needs of commerce and daily life. This topic aligns with your interests in innovation and entrepreneurship, illustrating how even in ancient or medieval times, societies innovated to solve practical problems and facilitate economic activities.
and since every time in any country it is not fated to drink competently from silver, nay, a small portion of silver, such as should be given for a pound of bread, is less well palpable because of its excessive smallness, therefore it was made
a mixture of less good material with silver; 6 From this he had the rise of black money, which is suitable for minute trade.& quoniam allquoties in allqua regione non fatis competenter babetur de argento, imo portiuncula argenti, qiiae jufte dari debet pro libra panis, effet minus bene palpabilis propter nimiam parvitatem, ideo facta fuit
mixtio de minus bona materia cum argento;Â 6Â inde habuit ortum nigra moneta, quae eft congrua pro minutis mercaturis.
Your quote seems to be from a medieval or early Renaissance text, discussing the use of currency, specifically silver, and the creation of lesser value coins for smaller transactions. This passage reflects the historical development of currency systems, where metals of lesser value were mixed with silver to create smaller denominations, suitable for everyday transactions. This was a response to the impracticality of using pure silver for small purchases due to its high value and the difficulty in dividing it into smaller, more manageable amounts.
This development had significant implications for economics, trade, and society. It made commerce more accessible and practical, allowing for a wider range of transactions and economic interactions among different classes of society. It also reflects the evolution of monetary policy and the complexities of maintaining value and trust in a currency system.
The creation of lesser value coins, or what is referred to here as “nigra moneta,” can be seen as an early form of financial innovation, a topic that resonates with your interest in innovation and entrepreneurship. It shows how economic needs drive innovation, even in something as fundamental as currency, and how these innovations can have far-reaching effects on society and commerce.

- Quit alcohol and weed: just drink black coffee — EK 100% fine robusta. Also another pro tip — don’t drink arabica, just drink 100% robusta. Why? Less sugar content and sugar molecules and sweetness flavors — robusta also has more caffeine!
- For coffee — only drink it first thing in the morning — a lot; allow yourself unlimited coffee first thing waking up in the morning. But for the rest of the day… strict abstinence.
- Don’t go to the club, the mall, the strip club whatever. Just go on a (free) hike and start your own home gym instead! Titan fitness independent squat rack— I love it. Also rogue fitness 400 pound sandbag. Texas power squat bar.

Eric Kim fight club philosophy
Eric Kim’s philosophy, inspired by “Fight Club,” includes several thought-provoking quotes:
- On self-improvement: “But the fallacy is that we need ‘improving.’ You are already perfect the way you are.”
- On potential: “I see all this potential; and I see it all squandered. Entire generation of slaves with white collars.”
- On spiritual war: “Our great war is a spiritual war. Our great depression is our lives.”
- On pain and sacrifice: “Without pain and sacrifice, we would have nothing.”
- On freedom: “It is only after we’ve lost everything that we’re free to do anything.”
- On identity: “You are not your job; you’re not how much money you have in the bank; you’re not the car you drive.”
- On living authentically: “Imagine how he feels— tomorrow will be the most beautiful day of his life.”
These quotes encapsulate Kim’s interpretation of the film’s messages about consumerism, self-identity, and the pursuit of authenticity oai_citation:1,The Philosophy of FIGHT CLUB – ERIC KIM.
Eric Kim’s philosophy inspired by “Fight Club” can be summarized as follows:
- Self-Acceptance Over Self-Improvement: Emphasizing self-acceptance instead of constant self-improvement.
- Potential and Consumerism: Critiquing the waste of human potential in consumerist pursuits.
- Life as a Spiritual War: Viewing life as a battle against consumerism, seeking deeper meaning.
- Pain and Sacrifice: Valuing sacrifice and struggle as meaningful aspects of life.
- Purging for Freedom: Letting go of past influences and possessions to achieve freedom.
- Rejecting Materialism: Advocating for a life not defined by material possessions like cars.
- True Identity: Defining identity by inner self and actions, not material or social status.
- Facing Fears: Encouraging confronting fears to live authentically and pursue dreams.
- Self-Realization: Striving to become the best version of oneself, free from societal constraints.
- Non-Competitiveness: Viewing life not as a competition but as a journey of self-conquest and community building.

- Intermittent fasting: no breakfast no lunch, only one insanely massive dinner a night. I prefer 100% carnivore diet — aim for 5 pounds of beef/lamb a night. Costco Kirkland boneless lamb leg roast only $5.50 USD a pound, the new Costco wagyu American ground beef also very good– only $5USD a pound.

ERIC KIM QUIT REDDIT
The best thing you can do for your personal happiness is quit Reddit?
Why Reddit is bad
Eric Kim shared several quotes expressing his views on why he believes Reddit is harmful or negative. Here are some key quotes from his blog posts:
- “It is not good for your brain.”
- “Insanely addictive.”
- “The communities are strange. They all seem to be a bunch of guys trying to humblebrag.”
- “Individuals who are very active on Reddit tend to be mediocre folks.”
- “Those who own the media own our minds.”
- “Reddit is a bunch of weird, nerds who have no skin in the game.”
- “I trust nobody who doesn’t have the guts to attach their real face, identity, and voice to what they expression.”
- “The culture of Reddit is: Smug, virtue signaling coward-nerds.”
- “I don’t think I actually ever learned anything useful on Reddit.”
These quotes highlight Kim’s dissatisfaction with the Reddit platform, its community, and its culture. For further details and context, you can refer to his full thoughts on his blog post from 2022 and another from 2020.
Eric Kim, a former avid Reddit user, decided to quit Reddit around 2010. His decision was influenced by several reasons. He found Reddit to be harmful to his brain, overly addictive, and he observed a strange community dynamic. Kim mentioned that the Reddit community seemed to consist largely of people engaged in humblebragging and that active members often appeared mediocre to him.
Furthermore, Kim expressed concerns about the ownership of Reddit. He noted that Reddit is owned by large media corporations, which he believed diminished the platform’s trustworthiness. This corporate ownership, he felt, conflicted with the anti-corporate ethos that many Reddit users seem to embrace.
In addition to these points, Kim also criticized the culture of anonymity on Reddit. He argued that anonymous opinions lack credibility and respect. He believes that genuine opinions should be attached to a real face and identity.
Lastly, Kim reflected that he gained more wisdom and insight from studying philosophy and great poets than from Reddit or any other website or blog. This aligns with his personal interests and his belief in the value of philosophy and classic literature over the content found on platforms like Reddit.
For more details, you can read his thoughts on his blog and here.

Countries which own bitcoin?
There are some theories that China is still hoarding some bitcoin, and I also read some spurious news that apparently North Korea starting to obtain bitcoin?
North Korea has been involved in cryptocurrency operations, including Bitcoin, primarily through cyber heists and mining activities. These operations have become a significant part of their economic strategy, especially to support their nuclear and missile programs. North Korea’s tactics have involved hacking into large, multi-user platforms and exploiting security weaknesses. For example, they were responsible for a major heist on the Axie Infinity gaming platform, resulting in a significant loss of Ethereum and U.S. dollar-denominated coins. Additionally, North Korea has been mining cryptocurrencies, possibly focusing on those with enhanced privacy features. These activities have generated substantial funds for the country, indicating a notable presence in the cryptocurrency space oai_citation:1,North Korea’s Crypto Operations Are Supporting Its Nuclear Program – The Diplomat.
What’s 69,000 times $35,000?
US has $2Billion USD worth of bitcoin?
As of 2024, the United States government holds the largest share of Bitcoin among world governments, with approximately 69,640 BTC, which is 90.3% of the global government-held Bitcoin. This significant holding is largely due to seizures by the FBI from various legal operations. Other countries with notable Bitcoin holdings include El Salvador, Ukraine, Bhutan, Venezuela, and Finland. Norway also has an indirect stake in Bitcoin through its investment in MicroStrategy. On the retail side, the largest number of Bitcoin owners is in emerging economies, with India leading the way, followed by China and the United States. The popularity of Bitcoin in these countries is often attributed to protection against inflation and the lack of a strong banking sector oai_citation:1,Which Country Owns the Most Bitcoin in 2024? (Updated List).
-
When all the bitcoin in the world is mined, then what will happen to the value of bitcoin?
My theory
- Things which are rare and scares, and have a hard limit are naturally valuable.
- Bitcoin is sexy and number 1. Just look at the advertisements for all the crypto platforms, bitcoin is always first named then Ethereum. But nobody knows what Ethereum is, nor cares. Also already in 2023 2024, we already have bitcoin ATMs, almost a decade ago from Jackson Warren in Vancouver— bitcoiniacs.
Ideas
Two theories:
- The practical theory: as bitcoin becomes more scarce, the value will go up.
- another theory; when all the bitcoin is mind and it is very rare… the value can actually go down?
Scarcity?
Typically gold is valuable because it is scarce, difficult to mine, and procure.
The hard cap of bitcoin being 21 million bitcoins; what is interesting is this is a hard cap, something that cannot be fudged by computer science, technology, etc.
For example, in ancient times, GALLIANI ON MONEY — explorers, conquistadors would keep traversing the world via ship to find more repositories of gold. Even in today’s world in 2024… I think there must be some gold still hidden within the earth that we have not yet discovered.
Doing some research, this sounds incredible, I always thought that gold was produced by the earth, but apparently… It is actually created via supernova, and neutron star collisions which occurred before the solar system was formed? This sounds kind of insane.
Also apparently gold sink to the earths score during the planets formation, only accessible today because of asteroid bombardment.
Why do men love gold?
- According to Galliani — the reason why men love gold is because it is naturally beautiful, and we could use gold to beautify ourselves, our children, women our wives etc. In fact, my personal theory is that cold is naturally beautiful and attracted because it is yellow, the color of the sun. the sun is the color of life. This is why the color yellow is so attractive to us. And also apparently via studies from Leonardo da Vinci, the true color of light and the sun is not white, but yellow. Same thing goes with the dark in the shadows, not black, but a dark blue indigo. This is why I really really really rich people actually don’t wear blacks; they actually wear very very very very dark navy indigo. Maybe similarly speaking, the best suit or outfit should be an extremely dark navy indigo suit, with extremely bright yellow accents?

Crypto Economics
- Crypto, cryptocurrency and bitcoin is fueled by speculation. Distrust of governments, Fiat currency, the IMF. In fact IMF, the international monetary fund… That one old head honcho was revealed for dealing in an elaborate sex prostitution ring. Bad bad bad.
- a new notion of scarcity; a hard cap of 21 million bitcoins? And after that… No more will be minted? I’m just very curious what will happen when it is all practically mined? Will the value go up or down?

How many people in the world have crypto?
Like my friend Natalie says, “every smart person that I know has and owns a little bit of crypto or bitcoinâ€.
As of late 2023, the number of global cryptocurrency owners was reported to have reached around 575 million. This significant increase in the number of crypto users highlights the growing mainstream adoption and interest in cryptocurrencies worldwide. It is important to note that these figures can vary depending on the sources and methodologies used for estimation oai_citation:1,2023 Year Review & 2024 Year Ahead.

Sex & Women are Distractions
Real men aren’t really that interested in sex besides the child making thing, bonding with your wife, and for the most part, we should just smile at women but mostly ignore them?
Lots of things:
- Apparently a lot of men, high profile people deal with prostitution, prostitution rings, strippers and nightclubs and hookers, “escorts“ etc. JAY Z, Arnold S, etc. Think about all the tech scandals which have happened with Bill Clinton etc — I think a lot of these men would be better off just working out, and their own home gym, or just joining some sort of pseudo private gym. Like the Rock says — “The gym is cheaper than therapy!â€
- it seems that 99% of men, in terms of the state symbols they try to procure like cars, Ferraris Lamborghinis Porsches, etc.… Is ultimately geared towards obtaining high-end women? But if you were a straight heterosexual man, who is already married and has kids, and not interested in women, then what? Then perhaps the approach is being a fucking OG in your matte black murdered out 2010 Prius haha.

Story of Coinbase and MarketCap
$30B market cap for Coinbase good.
Wow —
As of January 23, 2024, Coinbase’s market capitalization stands at approximately $29.43 billion. This figure represents a significant increase of 196.08% from the previous year, illustrating a notable growth in the company’s market value over this period oai_citation:1,Coinbase (COIN) Market Cap & Net Worth – Stock Analysis.
Coinbase.com — good name, great simple clean beautiful clean branding, insanely easy. I call it the PayPal for cryptocurrency.
Coinbase, founded in 2012 by Brian Armstrong and Fred Ehrsam, quickly emerged as a leading cryptocurrency exchange platform. Its story is a fascinating blend of technological innovation, entrepreneurship, and the evolving landscape of digital finance.
Innovation and Growth:
Coinbase was among the first platforms to provide a user-friendly interface for buying, selling, and storing cryptocurrencies. This innovation was crucial in a market that was, at the time, obscure and daunting for many. By simplifying the process, Coinbase played a significant role in making cryptocurrencies accessible to a broader audience.Market Impact:
Coinbase’s growth mirrored the rising interest in cryptocurrencies. As Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies surged in popularity and value, so did Coinbase’s user base and significance in the market. Their influence extended beyond individual investors; Coinbase became a go-to platform for businesses and institutional investors looking to dive into cryptocurrencies.Market Capitalization:
Coinbase’s market capitalization is a reflection of its impact and the broader cryptocurrency market’s trends. When it went public in April 2021, Coinbase’s direct listing was a landmark event, marking the first major crypto exchange to go public on a U.S. stock exchange. Its initial market cap was impressive, reflecting both the platform’s success and the speculative fervor around digital currencies.Challenges and Adaptation:
The story of Coinbase is not without its challenges. Like the cryptocurrency market, it has faced volatility. Regulatory scrutiny, security concerns, and market fluctuations have tested Coinbase’s resilience. However, its commitment to compliance, security enhancements, and expanding its offerings (like adding more cryptocurrencies and features) shows its adaptability and dedication to growth.Philosophical Angle:
For someone interested in philosophy and innovation, Coinbase’s story is a testament to the transformative power of technology and the evolution of financial systems. It highlights a shift in how value is perceived and exchanged, challenging traditional financial paradigms and offering a decentralized alternative. This aligns with broader philosophical questions about the nature of money, value, and the future of financial interactions in a digital world. In conclusion, Coinbase’s journey from a startup to a market leader encapsulates the dynamism of the cryptocurrency market. It’s a story of innovation, challenge, and adaptation, resonating with broader themes of change and evolution in our digital age.

LA Fitness, a prominent gym chain with over 700 locations across the United States and Canada, is a privately owned company. It was co-founded by Louis Welch and Chin Yol Yi in 1984 in Los Angeles, California. Over the years, the company expanded by acquiring struggling fitness clubs and developing new properties. Notably, Louis Welch is still heavily involved in the company and is recognized as the Co-CEO and President of LA Fitness International LLC. Despite being a major player in the fitness industry, the founders and key personnel of LA Fitness tend to maintain a low profile in the public eye oai_citation:1,Who Owns LA Fitness? Free Gym
I have a vision for a gym; just make it free. Make it free for people to come in, work out, etc.
The way it can make money is either through corporate sponsorships, private paid workshops, private personal trainers, maybe a coffee espresso bar, and a meat buffet, or some sort of other membership? Which is starting anytime any time, no initiation fees or gotcha fees.
-
How to save money
- Don’t have a gym membership or a yoga membership. Just do it yourself off the grid. Don’t pay no BS monthly payment subscription thing.
-
Feeling it, not feeling it?
Going back to the local gym, just a random LA fitness after a long hiatus, a realization; I only like the gym for the hot sauna, nothing really else. Therefore, if you could find a way to just create your own hot sauna, then what need do you have for a gym?
