The Effort is the Reward

A realization about life:

Life is no fun and has no savour unless we expend effort and exercise our skills.

Skill excercisement is fun, challenging and makes life worth it. If everything were handed to you on a silver platter … life loses all zest and interest.

The Effort is the Reward

No effort, no reward:

The Effort is the Reward

Effort is what makes life enjoyable, sweet and meaningful:

For example, if someone just gave you the keys to their new Lamborghini for free … would you really enjoy and appreciate it? Probably not. If your parents pay 100% for your college tuition, do you work as hard in college? No. You gotta have some form of “skin in the game” (your own personal effort, life and sacrifices) to make things and life worth it.

Or if you could take a magic pill and suddenly get insanely buff… would it be worth it? No. For me powerlifting and weight lifting and bodybuilding is the joy in the effort, the “one rep max” effort, and exercising my skill and courage and audacity.
