Vlogging in the streets — more fun and dynamic!

Why Vlog in the streets?

When vlogging in the streets, it is fun. I enjoy walking and talking (my ideas come to me better), and it takes more social risk and chutzpah. I like getting spotted when vlogging in public — it makes things more fun and interesting.

Street vlogging as a hybrid of street photography and video?

We like photos of people in public. Why not do the same with video?

Ideas

Use a Lumix or Panasonic camera, get a Rode video microphone (Put on the noise reduction sleeve), and just hit the streets and vlog. I like the Lumix 12mm f1.4 “Leica” lens. This will allow you to shoot in windy areas, with no interruption of vlogging in the streets.

Engage with others

If you find fun people on your daily vlogging adventures, interview them and chat with them!

Have fun

With vlogging, don’t take it seriously. Just have fun. Allow yourself to indulge in nonsense and be ridiculous. Fuck around with it, have fun, and don’t strive to be “good”. Strive to have fun and be authentic.
