How to Talk to Strangers

One of my greatest skills in life:

Social skills.

Specifically — how to interact and engage with strangers. Some ideas:

1. Start off with a compliment

If you see or meet someone you want to engage in conversation with, start off by complimenting them like:

  • “I like your dog!” What kind of dog is it?
  • I like your outfit! Did you make it yourself? Where did you get it?
  • I like your style! How you doing today?

It seems like a good way to pick up girls, but also works well on men or whatever gender-orientation you wanna go.

2. Assume everyone wants to talk with you

Certainly the reality isn’t that everyone wants to talk to you, but having the mindset that everyone wants to talk to you is hugely beneficial, because it will give you the brazenness and audacity and courage to talk or engage anyone you’re interested in.

3. Practice!

“Use it or lose it” seems to be a good saying. Social skills is a muscle, if you don’t practice it, your skills will atrophy.
