Ambition Over Happiness

What does man want? Not more happiness, but greater challenges and greater ambition.

For example, we think we want happiness but this is not the goal. Once you are happy, what more ambition do you have? You have none.

To be more specific, we want great health, but not happiness. Great health gives us the motivation and energy and desire to pursue new challenges. But once you’re happy and satisfied, you no longer have any more drive. Resist and avoid happiness as a goal.
