dissatisfaction

Perhaps Dissatisfaction is Good

The thought of the day:

Perhaps dissatisfaction is good.

Why?

dissatisfaction

For too long we’ve been lectured on why striving to seek satisfaction is of the supreme virtue. If you consider all Post-Socratic philosophy (all the philosophers who came after Socrates), the goal was to seek as little pain and suffering in life, and to seek maximum contentment from life.

But what if this notion is anti-life?

What fuels us?

Perhaps dissatisfaction is the great ‘priumum mobile’ to us in life (the first mover). That means,

Without dissatisfaction, there is no need to move, or do anything.

Channeling the great dissatisfaction

Let us consider… what need is there for any entrepreneurial innovation if we were simply content with the way things are? If we were satisfied, we would all still be stuck with the original iPhone 4. Thank goodness for the lust for more.
