How to Make More Photos

1. Reject the notion of “timelessness”

What hurts or hinders us the most as creative photographers? The desire to make a “timeless” photo. But perhaps the notion of timelessness should be rejected.

Why? Paralysis by analysis. Too much pressure, and you end up not shooting anything at all.

2. Fun

When you’re shouting, treat it like a fun experiment. For example, shooting abstract photos. For example experiment with your focus. Focus on what’s closest to you via macro mode, or focus on what’s furthest away.

3. Every photo you shoot as a micro experiment

You never know what a photo will look like until after you’ve shot it. Remember the Garry Winogrand quote:

I photograph to see what the world looks like photographed.
