Peak Photographic Productivity

What we we seeking as photographer-artists? Peak photographic productivity. In which we always find inspiration and motivation all around us, and when we never disgust or tire of our photography and photographic approach!

How to achieve it

For me, every moment is a photo opportunity. This means:

Do not wait for the dramatic or exotic … harness the beauty and mundaneness of every ordinary moment to photograph.

Social media is the productivity killer

I am convinced: social media is the productivity killer for us photographers. Why? We get the incorrect serotonin rush from feedback from others, instead of finding that self-motivated serotonin rush.

me and seneca

I am currently in a very robust position in which all of my personal happiness in photography is self-directed, and self-creating. I do not need likes or comments online to feel joy from photography. Instead, just looking at my photos brings joy to me. Furthermore, I derive great joy from reviewing my photos and also through the creative process of composing, framing, and shooting the photos.

As simple as possible

RICOH GR III, high contrast black and white monochrome mode, small size JPEG, default autofocus, and P (program) mode. The simplest photo settings, so I can just ‘set it and forget it‘, and focus on what I truly care for:

Making photos.

Less concern with making ‘good’ photos

Don’t concern yourself with making ‘good’ photos. Just focus on photographing. Discover the meaning and purpose later.
