No In-Between

I have a philosophical thought: no in between. No middle, no half measures, no half assing anything. All or nothing.

No middle enthusiasm

You cannot fake enthusiasm or passion. Therefore, it seems the best way to leverage life is to avoid half enthusiasm. Either you’re all for it, or you’re not. Similar idea, you cannot fake hate (Nassim Taleb)

For example, when it comes to matters of eating, either eat all of it or none. No snacking. Only one meal a day. Physiologically speaking, it is better to condense all of your food into one meal, in the late evening, rather than three square meals a day. This allows your body to fast during the day, and you have fewer insulin spikes during the day.

Love and hate

It seems the two biggest motivators include love and hate. The worst is indifference.

In other words, that which we are indifferent to is often boring to us. For example when it comes to movies and films, do not watch anything that you are indifferent towards or don’t have a strong passion for.

For example, I really want to like the new Boba Fett series, but I don’t. It is quite a boring and an interesting to me, and therefore the logical strategy is to just not watch it at all.

Even when it comes to friends and family, only interact with those you love. Deep love, and deep care. Do not interact or engage with anybody else.

No halfway passions

Ignore anything that you’re only only mildly interested in. Only pursue your great interests, and let everything else fall to the wayside.
