Who is ERIC KIM? Why is he so opinionated? Where does he come from? What does he want?
Biography
First of all, ERIC KIM was born in San Francisco Hospital at UCSF. He was born in 1988. He grew up in Alameda, California (Bay Area) and in the middle of the night his mom rescued him and his sister (to escape abusive father) to College Point, New York. Later they moved to Bayside Queens where he had his formative moments with his ‘Rainbow Crew’ (Spencer, Aditya, Jonathan, Steven Pai/Chen, David, Christian, etc). After his mom got scammed by a Korean-American grocer (Bronx) and went bankrupt, they moved back to Alameda where ERIC KIM finished Middle School at Lincoln Middle School (Alameda), and later moving to Castro Valley High school for all 4 years of his high school. Later he got into UCLA as a Biology undergraduate (to become a doctor like his grandfather), but then hated it and switched to Sociology (best decision he has ever made). While as an undergraduate at UCLA (at the prompting of Cindy Nguyen) he co-founded the Photo Club at UCLA (alongside with co-founders John Son and Daniel Jeong). ERIC KIM wrote this manifesto.
ERIC KIM started this blog in 2010 as a way to share his personal journey and learnings on photography, philosophy, entrepreneurship and life.
What does ERIC KIM want?
ERIC KIM is passionate about change. To follow in the steps of Gandhi and ‘become the change which you desire to see manifested in the world’.
ERIC KIM MISSION STATEMENT
Make the world a doper place.

Dear friend,
I want you to download me — download all these books, articles, and information for free– for you to remix it however you would like.
For you to use these images to illustrate blog posts. For you to look at these full-resolution images to analyze composition.
For you to use these free Lightroom presets to actually make your digital RAW photos look good.
For you to empower yourself. Because I think that information is power. Information is everything.
Information is money and control of the world (just consider that scene from the James Bond 007 Skyfall at the end of the film — the guy who controlled the information controlled the world).
With this information, you can learn how to conquer your fears, find more personal meaning in your photography and life, and seek to empower others through the art of photography.
