Digital over Physical Possessions

A random thought this morning —

Perhaps digital possessions are superior to physical possessions.

Ethereum is perhaps a good idea

My friend Søren Zhane first got me seriously considering Ethereum. Now that I have some more free brain power and mind space, I think NFT (non fungible tokens) are a good idea. Why? Some thoughts:

  1. Digital possessions don’t take up physical space, and you can take them anywhere.
  2. In some ways, digital possessions can increase in value over time (Bitcoin) vs. a Lamborghini, which will only DECREASE in value over time.
  3. In theory digital ownership is better for the planet and environment.
  4. With physical possessions, you can only show off your stuff to a small group of people who are only in the small sphere of your physical embodied environment. With digital possessions, in theory millions of people can see your digital possessions all at once.

It is already digital

If you think about it, all our money is already digital. So why not just tilt in and lean into it fully — and embrace an all digital future?
