Photography Christmas Ideas

Christmas is just around the corner. What gifts are best for us photographers? Some ideas:

Buy books, not gear

I’m convinced that books are probably the best “bang for the buck” gifts we can get as photographers. Why books? With books we get new inspiration and ideas to shoot! They can be instructional books, or photography art books.

Experiences

Experiences also as good. As simple as an Airbnb getaway for the weekend, or a quick road trip somewhere. Use money to book a hotel room, and nice some nice meals at a restaurant or takeaway.

Timeless

Henri Neck Strap Mark III (Phantom Black x Mahogany Brown)

Also gifts for photographers which can be timeless and universal. For example, camera straps, art prints, and education.

Cameras

Buying a new camera won’t make you a ‘better’ photographer, but certain cameras will certainly allow you to shoot more. For example, I am convinced RICOH GR III x RICOH GR II are the best ‘standalone’ digital cameras, that you can take everywhere you go. And also, the superiority of RICOH GR over even the newest iPhone pros … why? Simple ergonomics. RICOH GR III as only marginally bigger than the iPhone Pro (also cheaper, at $890 instead of $999+), and also the exposure compensation alone is worth it.

iPad for visual artists

I am a huge fan of iPad. In fact, I feel that the iPad is a far better creative investment for us visual artists than even the iPhone. iPad x ProCreate App as the perfect duo. Inspired a lot of my recent works, even studying composition.

Buy yourself some apps
