My first time doing a muscle-up! Some tips:
The swing is very essential. I use a ‘suicide grip’ (thumbs over the bar, not gripping the bar). I practiced on a smaller chin-up bar first, by jumping up to practice the form. It seems the goal is to throw your body OVER the bar.
New goal: to achieve a strict muscle-up.
