FILM NOTES Flipthrough Review

FILM NOTES: Imperfection is beautiful.

Why I love film photography:

  1. You don’t know what you will get until after you shoot it, and after you get the film developed and scanned. Thus, the mystery and sense of surprise is something we delight in!
  2. Imperfection is beautiful: I love the gritty nature of film, the grain, and ‘beautiful imperfections‘ which happen randomly.
  3. Forced ‘marination‘. You distance yourself emotionally from your photos, and you can judge them more objectively later.
  4. Focus on the ‘zen zone’, or the ‘flow‘ of shooting. Don’t ‘chimp‘ (look at your LCD screen all the time, with digital).
