  • DON’T SETTLE WITH PERFECT.

Keep it moving; keep it dynamic.

This is why I don’t want to ‘own’ anything– I don’t want to be tied down with anything, even if it is perfect!

I want to continue discovering new things, inventing new things, innovating new things.

For example with cars, I do not want to be tied down with any car, no matter how perfect. In some ways, this way … having *NO* car is ideal.

    I don’t desire perfect (anymore).

  • STOIC RESTRAINT.

Takes more manliness to *RESTRAIN* yourself from raising your voice, ‘fighting back’ or even ‘defending yourself’. When in doubt, pause … and delay as long as possible before responding.

Also don’t forget the priority is your own stoic-spartan-zen,

  • MURDERED OUT PRIUS?

    MURDERED OUT PRIUS?

The hilarity but also ‘gangsta’ approach of getting a ‘murdered out’ (black on black on black) Prius:

Funny enough, I think I actually *prefer* the styling of the Prius over the Tesla Model 3.

  • SHOOTING PHOTOS ON RICOH VS IPHONE

RICOH GR IIIX is still superior to even the best iPhone camera, iPhone Pro, etc.

    Why? Faster. Quick-draw.

With iPhone, you take it out of your pocket, and you gotta somehow bypass the lock screen (which is too slow).

Even on the iPhone SE, I prefer the you lift it up, and you swipe to the side to quickly access the camera. It is actually a bit faster and more streamlined than the new iPhone, in which you gotta press the little icon on the bottom-right (for half a second) before shooting the photo.

Also the benefit and upside of shooting with Ricoh GR IIIX is that the 40mm simulates how your eye sees. Thus, you don’t need to get closer or zoom before shooting the photo. “What you see is what you get” on RICOH GR IIIX.

  • TREAT IT LIKE YOUR OWN HOME/HOUSE

When you are a guest somewhere, or living with friends/family, in-laws, etc — treat and design, and clean the house like you owned it.

  • RELIGION IS AN AESTHETIC LUXURY.

In today’s world in which we are no longer god-fearing, and which we are not afraid of a permanent hell/afterlife, what is the purpose of religion?

    Aesthetic.

For example, going to church/mass is a luxury. Getting dressed up, being social, and appreciating the peace and quiet and aesthetics of mass is a luxury.

  • ZEN TEMPLE.

Make your home your own zen (quiet, silent, and bright) temple.

Ideal for naps, live, play and work.

    Optimize for quiet.

  • Pork is Difficult to Digest?

I love bacon, pork belly, pork products, etc. Yet, I think I’ve discovered that it is difficult for me to digest pork.

  • Replayability

Seneca gets easily booted of toys. So do adults. Invest in things which are high in “replayability”— not single use novelty toys.

  • iPhone SE x Provoke Cam

The best value for monochrome photography. iPhone SE (has a flash), and the Provoke Cam App.

  • Photography Invention

    Photography Invention

What I’m personally curious about and passionate about: photography invention, and inventing new things and approaches in photography.

  • iPhone SE IS PERFECT.

If you want a perfect phone, or a perfect iPhone, iPhone SE is perfect.

iPhone pro is not a good phone, but is something else. Best to consider the iPhone Pro as a mobile and pocketable LIDAR device.

  • RICOH GRIIIX IS PERFECT.

    RICOH GRIIIX IS PERFECT.

After much using and testing of the Ricoh GR 3X, I have determined and discovered that it is actually a perfect camera. There’s really no critical or fatal laws in it. Only thing I wish it had is a flash, but even that is “nice to have” thing, not an essential thing.

For flash, Provoke cam on iPhone.

  • What to Invent?

    What to Invent?

    Profit & Invention

Is the goal to invent things in order to make a profit, or to use profits to invent new things?

In the past with Steve Jobs, the goal was to use money and profits in order to invent new (insanely great) things.

With Kanye, the goal is to use money to invent new things (future clothing/apparel, and his new STEMPLAYER).

Elon Musk— use profits to innovate new great electric cars (TESLA), and also SPACEX, in order to ‘Occupy Mars’.

  • USE YOUR WEALTH TO BUY STUFF, OR TO BUILD AND INNOVATE STUFF?

USE YOUR WEALTH TO BUY STUFF, OR TO BUILD AND INNOVATE STUFF?

Instead of using my money, my Bitcoin, wealth, etc to buy stuff (Tesla Model S plaid, etc)– best to use that money to build things, innovate things, and invent things which I desire to see manifested in the world.

  • KANYE WEST IS PICKING UP WHERE STEVE JOBS LEFT.

KANYE WEST IS PICKING UP WHERE STEVE JOBS LEFT.

KANYEWEST stem player as insanely innovative. Essentially it is a handheld device, which is like a mini jambox. And you can control the channels of a given song– (4 of them), and isolate either the voice, instrumentals, etc. 1000x cooler than any recent Apple product I’ve seen in recent memory.

    The thought:

Kanye West is using his wealth (billions) to truly innovate insanely great and new things. Kanye is not driven by a profit motive, which makes him the uber-entrepreneur-artist.

Super inspiring to me — my nascent plans to develop my own digital camera. Perhaps might pick up the same idea– some ideas with iPhone Pro and the new LIDAR technology.

    First step:

    Develop best iPhone Camera App.

    Next step:

    Develop the hardware for it.

    Third step:

    Develop the platform for it.

    Fourth step:

Develop the micro-economy which can help the photographers on the platform thrive.

  • FASTER.

    FASTER.

We must go faster. Optimize everything for speed.

    Speed is king. Speed wins.

    Faster ideas:

    1. For your phone, laptop — choose the one with the fastest (newest) processor.
    2. For camera, shoot extra small jpeg (RICOH GR IIIX).
    3. 5G over Wifi (if 5G is faster).
    4. PLAID OR NOTHING (for cars)
    5. For shoes, the lightest possible — allows you to run faster, further.
    6. When possible, prioritize text over images. Text is faster.
    7. Choose open things; open fonts, open website concepts– typically load faster.
    8. The best website is the one which loads quickest. Note how Google won the search engine race — quickest results, and fastest website speed (no images, just text, and minimalist design).
    9. For communication, prioritize and optimize for speed of communication over ‘professionalism’. Short, quick, direct and curt answers are best.
  • I don’t have the time nor the desire to wash my car

So what’s the optimal or ideal solution?

  • Don’t Offer any other Option

Only Dyson hand dryers no paper towels.

  • Don’t Use Gmail

The worst productivity suck. Don’t get suckered by Gmail — it’s a trap!

Make your own self hosted email domain instead. Also it comes off as far more professional as well.

  • Circles are infinitely dynamic

In praise of traffic circles, especially when there is a fountain in a park in the center. Why? You could keep looping the same circle, and it always changes, it is always different.

  • Anti Distinguishment

The best way to distinguish yourself is to become anti-. That is, to not follow the trends, not follow the crowds, and desiring not to own what others own.

For example, instead of wearing the trendiest clothes, better to wear as little clothing as possible. No shirt on, short shorts.

Or, instead of owning the Lamborghini, or Tesla, better to just not own a car.

Instead of having the trendiest sunglasses, or the trendiest watch, better to not own or wear any watches or glasses.

  • “RE-“

    “RE-“

    Re-petition, re-creation, re-birth.

    Re-fresh, re-start. Re-shoot. Re-peat.

    “Re-up”.

  • Repetition is Fine.

    Repetition is Fine.

If it is true, important or meaningful, good to repeat it or yourself.

For example, repeating to your wife or kids that you love them, or drinking coffee every day (repetition).

Or for example I love meat, I repeat myself by eating it every day.

  • BECOME MASTER CHIEF.

    BECOME MASTER CHIEF.

I just heard that the new HALO movie, TV show series has just launched. An interesting thought: perhaps what we really desire is to become the master chief. The idea of a superhuman, all contained in one bodily shell.

The idea that you are the sole and solo protagonist. And that your armor, weapons, and personal body suit is all that you desire, own, and desire.

  • What I’ve Been Shooting

    What I’ve Been Shooting

Currently I’m having a lot of fun making photos of Seneca. Him eating, growing up, and also learning how to walk unassisted. Also, photographing design objects, text, and concepts I like with my Ricoh GR 3X, in macro mode. Also, enjoying the 40 mm focal length with Ricoh GR 3X, and extra small JPEG, which has expedited my photographic workflow.

Also, not separating my photography from my personal life. Just photographing whatever I witness in every day life, photographing strangers, etc. (more…)

  • IN PRAISE OF SMALLER SCREENS.

Funny enough, I think I *prefer* the iPhone SE over even the iPhone Mini. Why? You can reach more of the screen with one thumb and hand because there is less screen.

Let us remember how Steve Jobs preferred the OG design of the iPhone 4S, because you could actually reach diagonally and reach all parts of the phone screen real-estate with just one thumb.

  • TESLA MODEL S PLAID OVER A HOUSE.

TESLA MODEL S PLAID OVER A HOUSE.

Better to buy a Tesla Model S Plaid (White) than buy a house or home.

Technically if you take the Silicon Valley hippie approach, you could live out of your Tesla model S plaid. Get it in white, because it is like having an RV. Almost all RVs or white, why? Maximal reflection of heat in the sun, and also longevity.

In theory, if you got a white Tesla model S plaid, with no tint, it should last you the rest of your life. And also might last for the rest of your life of your children.

Why the Tesla model S plaid, and not the Tesla model X Plaid? Because the Tesla model S plaid is faster.

Also, the Tesla model S plaid can be like your mobile gym. Keep a 105 pound kettle bell in your trunk, and you could work out anywhere and everywhere.

If you fold down the rear seats, you could just sleep in the trunk. And because the car is electric, you could just keep on the heater or air conditioner at night time.

From a practical and pragmatic perspective, wait at least three years, and just buy it used from a previous owner on craigslist, maybe you could just pay it in bitcoin — P2P, peer to peer form of payment, especially with large purchases like a house or car.

  • POWER EXPLOSION.

    POWER EXPLOSION.

For cars, our fascination with revving our engines, or 0 to 60 speeds is about power explosion. How much power, force, you could explode and express in a short given moment. Tesla Model S plaid (1.99 seconds) as the current GOAT.

With working out, do not grind out mindless repetitions, and try to gain muscle hypertrophy. Rather, strive towards Maximal power output and expression. Explosion. For example, explosive power when going for a run rep max sumo deadlift. Or, when trying to go for Maximal power explosion when doing to armed kettlebell swings or cleans.

  • CHALLENGES.

  • MORE EFFICIENT MOVEMENTS.

    MORE EFFICIENT MOVEMENTS.

A thought when reviewing my photos on my laptop (vs my phone),

Tapping the left and right arrow button is a more efficient movement than having to ‘swipe’ for next on your phone.

Similarly speaking, kettlebell movement and workout as very efficient because to warmup, all you gotta do is the ‘goblet squat’ hip opener stretch/warmup, then you can just jump into the (two armed) then eventually 1 armed swings.

  • Gear Optimization Syndrome (GOS)

    Gear Optimization Syndrome (GOS)

The difference between GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) and GOS (gear optimization syndrome):

With GAS, you keep acquiring equipment for the sake of it, but with GOS, you’re constantly returning and recycling your equipment to find the perfect 1 thing.

I’m often afflicted by GOS, not GAS. I don’t like having a lot of equipment, but I have a problem with trying to get and discover “perfect”.

    My recent optimizations:

    1. RICOH GR IIIX (after my Ricoh GR III died)
    2. iPhone SE (after trying to like the iPhone Pro, but ultimately hating it for the huge weight and bulky/brutal dimensions).
