A philosophical classification system: almost everything in life you could either categorize as ascending or descending. Then the focus becomes to only focus on that which is ascending, and a void understand that which is descending.
For example, companies on the up and up. Or people and innovators on the up and up. also globally to think about countries on the ascent, rather than countries on the descent.
Is American the ascent or the descent?
Some thing on my mind: is America on the up and up, on the down and down?
I actually think America is on the steady decline right now. innovative American tech companies are on the up and up, like Apple, Amazon, Netflix. But for America as a government, country and as a whole, on the descent.
How about China?
No doubt about it: China is on the up and up. China is going to soon eat America‘s lunch.
Yet the irony is that China needs America’s innovation, and the American spirit of individual innovation. In other words, China wants America’s sexiness.
The new global elite?
This is what I think: in the future it isn’t either going to be about America being on top, or trying to be on top. Will always be partners. Rather, I think they will just swap.
For example, China will always want to buy American design things, just like Apple products. Even though the irony is that Apple products are designed in California or manufactured in China. I doubt China will ever be able to create a sexy as a tech companies Apple.
So what will happen? A new global elite. It won’t really matter too much what your nationality is, as long as you have power and wealth.
For example, rich mainland Chinese will always prefer French and Italian luxury goods over Chinese luxury goods. maybe America’s only hope is for America to start becoming more prideful of things made in America. For example, people forget that Tesla is an American company. And a lot of Tesla cars are actually produced in America.
Even for myself now, I actually find more pride and products which are made in the USA. Even though I do prefer the prices of things produced in China, there is a strange irrational pride I have in American things, American concepts, and being American.
In praise of Ford
Ford has been around forever. And perhaps it will continue to be around for a long time. Americans still have pride in Ford products, like Ford trucks, and more recently Ford SUVs. Maybe alongside Tesla, Ford will continue to innovate with electric vehicles, and rather than tesla enforcing each other as enemies, rather, hybrid partners for the well-being of economic growth in America.
