Never Feel Guilt in Photography

Eric hand vein

To feel guilt in photography is nonsense, and improper of us.

To feel guilt is to let external societal pressures guide our own instincts and intuition.

We should not prioritize the needs of society and others over ourselves. In praise of following our own gut, our own instincts, and obeying our own needs.

On “hurting the feelings of others”

What holds us back in street photography: the fear of “offending” others. Or the fear that we are somehow being evil by shooting photos of others without their consent or permission.

But it is my thought:

Better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission.

Also,

Better to shoot a photo you like and upset someone than not shoot it at all.

As artists we can create our own moral and ethical rules. If you always asked for permission for every single photo you shot, or every single thing you did; you would never be able to become the most apex version of yourself.

To live life without hurting anyone else or offending anyone else is impossible

Allow yourself to be rude, brash, and “mean”. I believe in order to become the greatest version of yourself you cannot let fear of offending others get in your way.

Furthermore, it seems that the best course of action is also to stay focused on yourself, your own needs, and looking less at others and paying less attention to others.

100% focus on you is the goal.

STAY FOCUSED!
