  • Pain vs Injury

Pain ain’t a big deal, but injury is bad. Disregard the pain which doesn’t come with injury, but heed the pain which signals injury.

  • The more narrow, the better.

  • I hate packing

Optimize your life which requires the least amount of packing.

  • Just buy the newest thing

When it comes to technology, it seems the best strategy is to just buy the newest thing, and hold onto it as long as possible.

  • Nothing tying you down

    Nothing tying you down

No possessions, no home, no car. Just your wallet, money, finances, crypto, and the clothes and things that could fit inside a single backpack.

  • Why be anywhere?

If you have the option, why stay in any one spot?

  • Prefer your own preferences

Rather than asking others what they like or what their preferences are, think deeply about what your own personal preferences are, and optimize for your own preferences.

  • Clothing as Combat Armor

Another thought: what should clothing be? Perhaps modern day combat armor.

  • The car as your tank?

In a world where we do not really need to commute to work anymore, or really commute anywhere, what is the ethos of the modern car? Either for it to be your own personal spaceship, or your own armored vehicle, a tank.

  • I Care a lot about superficial things

  • Sacramento is Cool

  • Non Attachment

Good to get rid of or return things you actually really like. Non attachment.

  • Become a more superior version of yourself

  • Novelty of environment

  • Voyager.

  • Endurance is Boring

  • Hygiene First.

    Hygiene First.

  • The Zen of Driving

    The Zen of Driving

No music, podcasts or distractions. Maximal focus while driving promotes zen — zen focus, zen thinking.

  • Haptic Response is Great

    Haptic Response is Great

In praise of haptic response. Addictive and great.

  • Spend the least amount of time in a car possible

Spend the least amount of time in a car possible

Regardless of how great or luxurious it is. Better to be outdoors, standing, walking.

  • Romantic Notions Are Bad

    Romantic Notions Are Bad

Romanticism, being “romantic” and romantic notions are bad.

  • Eating out should be a positive experience, otherwise just eat at home.

  • Follow your gut, not rules or heuristics

  • Spend the least amount of time sitting

Perhaps this is what makes flying better than driving.

  • Low-Key Aesthetics

This is why I love all black everything. Also, often flashy things distract myself. And I hate being distracted.

  • The best car color is the one which hides dirt the most

  • Self Creation

    Self Creation

Don’t upload or share anything which you didn’t create yourself.

  • The utility of something is proportional to the amount you use it

The “best” as something you use the most frequently.

RICOH GR IIIX as the best camera for this high utility reason.

Also iPhone SE for small size and curved edges. Easier to fit and slip in and out of your front pocket.

  • Cars or not useful when they’re parked

Cars are only useful when they’re being driven, or when they’re in motion. Therefore, avoid any car that sits too long in your garage or Parkway.

  • Think less about the tools and equipment, think more of your personal goals and your personal endgame.

What is it that you truly desire? What is your true desired endgame?

  • China Does Not Yet Have a Design Language

  • Don’t Get in My Way

I don’t need “help”, I just don’t want anyone or anything to get in my way.

  • Slimmer is Better.

  • Cut the Non-Essential

  • Hunger is the Motivator for Action?

If you desire to do more and act more, best to perpetually be hungry during the day, besides feasting on meat before sleeping.

  • Use Simple, Direct Language

  • Drive With More Confidence

The upside of all wheel drive cars, and also cars with foglights.

  • Use Beautiful Models, Not Strange or “Diverse” Models.

  • Interiors Matter More than the Exterior

  • NO PHONES ARE THE FUTURE.

  • Created in Your Own Image

  • Forever Hungry

Better to always be hungry than to always be full.

  • I WANT TO GET UP, GET OUT AND DO STUFF.

  • Bitcoin for Big Purchases

A thought: perhaps when it comes to small payments, we will continue to use cash, credit cards, etc. But with very big purchases, like buying a car or buying a home, we will use certain cryptocurrency‘s like bitcoin more often.

  • Capturing the moment is more important than quality.

With photography, and videos, the benefit of having a smaller, lighter, more compact camera is that you are more apt to capture the moment. And this is infinitely worth more than quality. Because there is other cameras which are bigger, bulkier, and more obtrusive, in which are less likely to capture the moment

  • UNIQUE COLOR-WAYS ARE THE FUTURE

    UNIQUE COLOR-WAYS ARE THE FUTURE

In praise of Kanye West and the new YEEZY colorways– to create new color ways of the future.

To use unique colors, and unique color-combinations we have yet witnessed before.

  • WHY MARKETING IS KING.

    WHY MARKETING IS KING.

I prefer the marketing materials more than the thing itself.

  • Don’t Call it “Content”

Critique on the new iPhone 13 Pro marketing materials:

    Don’t call it ‘content’.

“Content” means nothing. Also, when you tell someone “I love your content”– it is very disrespectful. Better to call it “artwork”.

When you call it ‘content’, it is like calling the artwork of an artist like some anonymous, pink (McDonalds Chicken Nugget) sludge.

Better to call them ‘photos’ or ‘videos’. Also the emphasis on the notion *YOUR*.

  • DO MORE, BECOME MORE, GO FURTHER.

  • iPhone Pro vs RICOH GR IIIX for Photography

iPhone Pro vs RICOH GR IIIX for Photography

RICOH GR IIIX is still waaaaay superior to iPhone Pro for photos. What does iPhone Pro have which is unique?

    1. Ultra wide angle lens (very useful)
    2. Front facing camera (for vlogs, selfies)
    3. LIDAR
  • Don’t Explain It; Aspire It.

One of the huge downsides of the new Apple marketing materials– it is too nerdy and tries to ‘explain’ everything. Rather than explain things, better to *ASPIRE* things. This means:

    Make it aspirational.

Don’t explain the technology, or use numbers. Nobody cares for these things. Rather, hype it up what it can help you *BECOME*. Or how it can *improve* your life.

For example, TESLA keeps your car dynamic and non-boring from the frequent software updates. We love updates.

Or, TESLA can prevent you from dying in a car crash when driving while sleepy or tired. Worth 10000x the price.

  • Become Colder, More Callous and Indifferent

    Our stoic approach.

  • WHAT DO WE DESIRE TO ACCOMPLISH, DO, DISCOVER, OR INVENT OR INNOVATE IN THIS SHORT LIFE OF OURS?

  • DON’T OPT FOR BORING.

Difficult to know what is ‘best’ and what is ‘exciting’, but certainly good to know what is *BORING*.

    Avoid boring at all costs.

    Also, avoid the static.

  • ADVANCEMENT VS CHANGE

An idea I got from Cindy — the good idea of ‘advancement’.

    Which makes me think:

What we seek is ADVANCEMENT, not ‘change’ for the sake of it.

  • TOYOTA VS TESLA

In some funny ways, Toyota and Tesla is more similar than dissimilar:

    • Corolla vs Tesla Model 3
    • Camry vs Tesla Model S
    • Sienna vs Tesla Model X

    The main difference:

Toyota cars are always changing and evolving, whereas Tesla’s body style is consistent… yet the software is always advancing and evolving.

  • DON’T SETTLE WITH PERFECT.

Keep it moving; keep it dynamic.

This is why I don’t want to ‘own’ anything– I don’t want to be tied down with anything, even if it is perfect!

I want to continue discovering new things, inventing new things, innovating new things.

For example with cars, I do not want to be tied down with any car, no matter how perfect. In some ways, this way … having *NO* car is ideal.

    I don’t desire perfect (anymore).

  • EXPECT NOTHING BUT DO IT ANYWAYS.

  • STOIC RESTRAINT.

Takes more manliness to *RESTRAIN* yourself from raising your voice, ‘fighting back’ or even ‘defending yourself’. When in doubt, pause … and delay as long as possible before responding.

Also don’t forget the priority is your own stoic-spartan-zen,

  • MURDERED OUT PRIUS?

    MURDERED OUT PRIUS?

The hilarity but also ‘gangsta’ approach of getting a ‘murdered out’ (black on black on black) Prius:

Funny enough, I think I actually *prefer* the styling of the Prius over the Tesla Model 3.

  • SHOOTING PHOTOS ON RICOH VS IPHONE

RICOH GR IIIX is still superior to even the best iPhone camera, iPhone Pro, etc.

    Why? Faster. Quick-draw.

With iPhone, you take it out of your pocket, and you gotta somehow bypass the lock screen (which is too slow).

Even on the iPhone SE, I prefer the you lift it up, and you swipe to the side to quickly access the camera. It is actually a bit faster and more streamlined than the new iPhone, in which you gotta press the little icon on the bottom-right (for half a second) before shooting the photo.

Also the benefit and upside of shooting with Ricoh GR IIIX is that the 40mm simulates how your eye sees. Thus, you don’t need to get closer or zoom before shooting the photo. “What you see is what you get” on RICOH GR IIIX.

  • TREAT IT LIKE YOUR OWN HOME/HOUSE

When you are a guest somewhere, or living with friends/family, in-laws, etc — treat and design, and clean the house like you owned it.

  • RELIGION IS AN AESTHETIC LUXURY.

In today’s world in which we are no longer god-fearing, and which we are not afraid of a permanent hell/afterlife, what is the purpose of religion?

    Aesthetic.

For example, going to church/mass is a luxury. Getting dressed up, being social, and appreciating the peace and quiet and aesthetics of mass is a luxury.

  • ZEN TEMPLE.

Make your home your own zen (quiet, silent, and bright) temple.

Ideal for naps, live, play and work.

    Optimize for quiet.

  • Pork is Difficult to Digest?

I love bacon, pork belly, pork products, etc. Yet, I think I’ve discovered that it is difficult for me to digest pork.

  • Replayability

Seneca gets easily booted of toys. So do adults. Invest in things which are high in “replayability”— not single use novelty toys.

  • Stream it All.

  • iPhone SE x Provoke Cam

The best value for monochrome photography. iPhone SE (has a flash), and the Provoke Cam App.

  • Photography Invention

    Photography Invention

What I’m personally curious about and passionate about: photography invention, and inventing new things and approaches in photography.

  • iPhone SE IS PERFECT.

If you want a perfect phone, or a perfect iPhone, iPhone SE is perfect.

iPhone pro is not a good phone, but is something else. Best to consider the iPhone Pro as a mobile and pocketable LIDAR device.
