Smart Decisions
We strive to make smart, clever and wise decisions whether monetary or life related.

LOW-KEY OR HIGH-KEY RICH?
If you’re rich, and have the option would you prefer to be perceived and known (outwardly) as rich, or would you prefer to stay stealth and ghost-like?

Curve Composition
Look for curves in composition, whether the background, the built urban environment, etc:

FLEX HARDER.
When in doubt, flex harder.
And best to flex your body, than to flex your material possessions, car, things.

PLAID MODE.
Not to go 0-60 in 1.99 seconds in a Tesla Model S Plaid, but for you to go ‘plaid mode’ yourself, when going uber-turbo mode on your laptop, or the insane focus and hype-up for a one-rep max sumo deadlift.
Also when it comes to computing, don’t buy a Tesla Model S Plaid, but instead, get a maxed-out MacBook Pro, and go plaid mode yourself when computing, writing, blogging, reviewing photos, etc.

The Stalker Technique in Street Photography
When you see a potentially interesting street photo, just keep following the person, and keep clicking while walking and following them. Often the best photo is towards the end (after 36+ photos).

LAPTOP IS KING.
Instead of buying an iPhone Pro, just get the newest MacBook Pro instead.

THE SPEED OF FLAGGING YOUR PHOTOS ON YOUR LAPTOP
I really enjoyed the mobile workflow for flagging photos on an iPhone, yet it still seems that laptop is king.
Using Apple Photos and seeing the photos as small thumbnails, and flagging (favoriting/hearting) the photos which pop out at you as small thumbnails as very effective/efficient.
Also, being able to more quickly and efficiently select *multiple* photos, and keep moving.

Urban Exploration
The joy of wandering the streets, going in buildings, going to restaurants, coffee shops, hotels, etc is the joy of urban exploration. To explore, open doors, and look inside new places and novel environments in an urban space.

I don’t need to own it, I just want it to exist
After driving my friends Tesla model three, and after sitting in my friends Tesla model Y, I feel like I no longer desire to have one or own one. Rather, I’m just happy that they exist and are in the world.

Life is Limited
In this short and limited life, what do you desire to see, discover, create, innovate, and become?

With laptops, anything is possible
Not so much with phones.

The greatest joy is social joy
To maximize your joy in life, maximize your time outdoors and in public, interacting with other humans

Assuming money was no option or no matter, what would I desire?
I really like living in a hotel, with Cindy and Seneca, with all of our basic needs covered. This allows for more time to walk, explore, take photos, train, think turbo thoughts, and create write produce and share.

Legs First
For strength, optimize for your legs. This means that whenever you have the chance to work out, given that you have limited time, or limited energy, always optimize your legs. The first day is always squat day, or dead lift day.
Why your legs? Wear short shorts, and it is best to flex off your legs and your thighs, instead of your upper body and arms.
Legs are everything. For example, even when you’re judging bodybuilders or powerlifters, or you want to ascertain the strength of someone, first judge their legs.
Better to ask somebody who is buff, how much can you squat? Or how much can your dead lift? Instead of how much they could bench.
Even very practical things: carrying baby Seneca on my chest with the ergo baby carrier, and walking around all day. Having minimalistic shark shoes, L run slipper water shoes are best.
Also, my theory on how to improve your strength, physiology, mood, and outlook in life starts in the legs. Either strive to walk 30,000 steps today, or strive to do a four plate squat, or a five plate dead lift. I’ve never met anybody who walks 30,000 steps a day who is depressed, and I have never met somebody who could deadlift 5 plates who has anxiety.

“Free†is Better Than Percentage% Discounts
An economic psychology and marketing idea: better to offer your customers free things, rather than discounts.
For example, let’s say that you are a restaurant, or a small business owner: better to offer a free iced coffee, rather than offering a 10 to 20% off discount on things.
Or let us say that you are a gym trying to get gym memberships: better to offer free limited memberships, or free services, instead of percentage discounts on your plans.
Tesla was genius in offering free Tesla supercharging for life for early Tesla model S purchasers. Even though the economics doesn’t make sense, people will always like the notion of free.

Anti Fake Wood Trim
The fatal flaw in Tesla model 3, and Tesla model Y, with the all black interior: the fake brown wood trim on the front dashboard. If you want an all black interior, or an all black car, the new Tesla model S, or the new Tesla model X is superior.

“I’m Over Itâ€
If there are things which curious you, just try it out. Often, it is good to just try something out, and get it out of your system, then trying to “restrain“ yourself.

The Blog as a Dynamic Book
Turbo thought: I see the blog as a hyper book, or, and ever evolving, changing, and dynamic book.
Printed books, whether paper back or hard cover are overrated in terms of prestige. Most of them end up dying on bookshelves, never to be read again. Instead, far superior to have an ever lasting blog, Always being updated, several times a day, to always entertain your readers, and also for you to always share you ever evolving life:

Financial Decisions Are Philosophical Decisions
Something that a lot of people don’t think about: the financial decisions you make or philosophical ones. For example, I can afford any iPhone out there, regardless of price or configuration. However, ultimately however much money I spend on it is more of a philosophical one, then a monetary one.
For example, the new iPhone SE with the medium amount of storage is only $530, as opposed to $830 for iPhone mini at medium capacity, or $1050 for a iPhone pro at medium capacity. To me, $830 just seems like too much money, and it doesn’t seem like a good value for the price.
$1050 for the iPhone pro financially was fine for me, yet, I ultimately hated it because it was far too heavy, bulky, cumbersome, and I cannot use it comfortably with one hand.
Also funny enough, I think I prefer to “value flexâ€, rather than showing off that I have the newest and greatest or the best thing. For example, I had much more pride that I made such great photos with a $600 Ricoh GR 2, instead of having the newest Leica M camera. Even now, I feel much more mighty and lofty using a Ricoh GR 3X, then a new Leica M 11 camera.
Even when me and Cindy were back in Providence Rhode Island, I felt so much more proud having acquired a 2003 Subaru outback wagon, five speed manual transmission, for only $800 in cash, instead of buying the newest Tesla, or even a Lamborghini. I had lots of fun quizzing my friends on how little I spent on that Subaru.
Therefore I suggest: ultimately when you think about certain financial decisions, understand that it is a personal and philosophical one, rather than a “logical“ one.

The Biggest Flex?
It seems that most of our things, in our possessions, or in order to show off and flex in front of others. For example, typically the car is with the biggest flex appeal include loud, flashy, and boisterous cars.
For example, a Porsche 911 will always be seen as more interesting than a Tesla model 3 performance. Similarly speaking, a Lamborghini Urus SUV will be seen as more interesting than a Tesla model X plaid.
Also, a Lamborghini Huracan or a Lamborghini Aventador will always draw more attention, and be seen as a greater flex than a Tesla model S plaid, which is by far the more objectively superior car.
Assuming you drive in public roads, which is essentially everybody, there will always be some sort of public attention to the car you drive. Even when you’re in the mountains, or in desolate Joshua tree, and you go on hiking and adventurous things, you will typically encounter other human beings in the parking lot, and look at the cars of others.
Therefore, a question: do you prefer to have or own a car which affords you the greatest flex, what you could afford, or do you simply seek the “best†car, or the car which is the most convenient to you, and requires the least amount of annoyance or maintenance from you?

Digital Outfit
iPhone SE or Mini, Ricoh GR 3X, Athletic shorts (Uniqlo ultra stretch active shorts), leggings (Uniqlo Hitek leggings, or merino wool leggings), oversized Gore-Tex jacket (Camo and military is good), minimalistic shoes.
Blog and upload photos from your phone, in praise of 5G.

Forcing yourself to sleep, versus forcing yourself to be productive
It seems that the modern day bias is that we’re always trying to force ourselves to work more, and be more productive. However, maybe it is better for us to force ourselves to sleep earlier, for example, very early on, turning off the lights at home, forcing yourself not to look at any screens, forcing yourself not to work, and jumping into bed unusually early, with your eye mask on, and your earplugs in.
Even though you may need to lie in bed, for an hour or two, not doing anything, at least this gives your mind a chance to think, unwind, and process the day.

Taste & Nutrition
I have a theory: foods which taste good, are often high in nutritional content, and positive for our muscle, brain, cartilage, bodily physiology development.
However, people who have a preference for sugar, sweet things, simple starches and carbs, I think the lack of discerning taste buds. Rather, they don’t know what food is actually good for them.

Perhaps it is best to wait for the best option
If you could get something mediocre, delivered immediately, or you could have the best, but just wait a little bit, perhaps it is best to wait for the best.

College campuses now have a depressing vibe?
Another +1 for not encouraging Seneca to go to college. I cannot imagine being stuck on a college campus for four years, in a very static environment.
Instead, better use that money in time to start his own company, strive to become self-employed, become a sole proprietor, or travel the world.

Pain ain’t a big deal, but injury is bad. Disregard the pain which doesn’t come with injury, but heed the pain which signals injury.

Just buy the newest thing
When it comes to technology, it seems the best strategy is to just buy the newest thing, and hold onto it as long as possible.

Nothing tying you down
No possessions, no home, no car. Just your wallet, money, finances, crypto, and the clothes and things that could fit inside a single backpack.

Why be anywhere?
If you have the option, why stay in any one spot?
-
Prefer your own preferences
Rather than asking others what they like or what their preferences are, think deeply about what your own personal preferences are, and optimize for your own preferences.

Clothing as Combat Armor
Another thought: what should clothing be? Perhaps modern day combat armor.
-
The car as your tank?
In a world where we do not really need to commute to work anymore, or really commute anywhere, what is the ethos of the modern car? Either for it to be your own personal spaceship, or your own armored vehicle, a tank.
