“Ferdinando Galiani: On Money” is a comprehensive work that delves into the nature and principles of money. Galiani discusses the discovery and use of metals like gold and silver, and their evolution as mediums of exchange. He explores various economic concepts such as the theory of value, utility, scarcity, and the role of money in trade and society. Galiani’s insights extend to the impact of monetary policies and practices on economies and societies. His work is notable for its depth of analysis on the economic, social, and political aspects of money.

Better to be a gay monster than a sentimental bore – Galiani

    Galiani via Nietzsche

Ferdinando Galiani and Friedrich Nietzsche, though from different eras and intellectual traditions, offer intriguing points of intersection in their philosophies. Galiani, an 18th-century Italian economist and diplomat, is known for his witty and skeptical views on economics and human nature, often reflecting a deep understanding of the complexities and contradictions inherent in society. His work, though primarily economic, touches upon philosophical themes of skepticism and human behavior.

Nietzsche, a 19th-century German philosopher, is renowned for his exploration of individual morality, the nature of will, and the critique of traditional values. His ideas about the Übermensch (Overman), the death of God, and the will to power present a radical rethinking of human potential and values.

When you juxtapose Galiani’s skepticism and insights into human nature with Nietzsche’s existential and often confrontational stance on morality and human potential, an interesting dialogue emerges. Galiani’s economic and societal observations could be seen as a groundwork for understanding the social and moral contexts that Nietzsche later challenges and seeks to transcend.

Galiani’s skepticism could be interpreted as a precursor to Nietzsche’s critique of absolute truths and traditional morality. Nietzsche’s ideas about creating one’s own values and morality resonate with Galiani’s understanding of the fluid and often contradictory nature of human society. Both thinkers, in their own way, seem to advocate for a more nuanced, critical, and individualistic approach to understanding and engaging with the world.

Their combined perspectives could offer a unique lens through which to explore the nature of human motivation, the fluidity of morals and ethics, and the challenge of navigating a world without fixed truths. This synthesis could be especially relevant in fields like entrepreneurship and innovation, where questioning norms and creating new paths are essential.

if somebody is not independently wealthy from the thing, it might be a signal that when they’re doing the thing, they’re either lying, doing it out of desperation to make money, etc.

For example for myself, I am already independently wealthy from photography and my cryptocurrency speculations, therefore anything I say about philosophy and or weightlifting and fitness is genuine and true.

  • Eric Kim Matrix Philosophy

    Quotes

Eric Kim has indeed drawn inspiration from “The Matrix” in his philosophical discussions. Here are some key lessons he extrapolates from the film:

    1. Dodge Bullets: Kim likens real-life criticisms and negativity to the bullets Neo dodges in “The Matrix.” He suggests visualizing oneself dodging these metaphorical bullets as a way to rise above negativity and hate.
    2. Stop Bullets in Mid-Flight: Kim relates this iconic scene from “The Matrix” to the power of overcoming and stopping adversity in life. He emphasizes the inner strength each person possesses to confront challenges.
    3. There is No Spoon: This lesson, inspired by the famous line from the film, is about bending one’s perception of reality rather than reality itself. Kim suggests changing one’s life story to view challenges as heroic battles, not victimhood.
    4. Be Like Neo: Kim encourages adopting a belief in oneself, free from fear and self-doubt, drawing a parallel to Neo’s journey in “The Matrix.” He compares this awakening to the philosophical concept of Plato’s cave, where one becomes aware of a deeper truth and has a duty to enlighten others oai_citation:1,Life Lessons From the MATRIX – ERIC KIM.

These insights reflect Kim’s broader philosophy of resilience, self-belief, and the power of perception, which are very much in line with the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit you embody.

Eric Kim, a contemporary photographer, and educator, has delved into the concept of “Matrix Philosophy” as part of his broader exploration of creativity and art. His interpretation of the “Matrix Philosophy” takes inspiration from the philosophical underpinnings of the famous film “The Matrix,” and relates them to the field of photography and personal development.

In the context of Kim’s work, “Matrix Philosophy” refers to the idea of questioning and understanding the ‘reality’ of one’s life, similar to how the protagonist in “The Matrix” film discovers the true nature of his existence. Kim uses this metaphor to encourage individuals, particularly photographers and artists, to challenge their own perceptions and the boundaries of their creativity.

He often talks about breaking free from the constraints of conventional thinking and societal norms, much like how characters in “The Matrix” break free from a simulated reality. For Kim, this means pushing the limits of one’s artistic vision, experimenting with new ideas, and embracing failure as a part of the learning process.

Kim’s philosophy extends beyond photography. It’s about living a life that’s true to one’s self, constantly questioning and redefining one’s values and beliefs. He encourages people to take control of their life’s narrative, much like how characters in “The Matrix” seize control of their own destiny.

This approach to philosophy and creativity aligns well with your interest in innovation and entrepreneurship. Just as Kim advocates for breaking free from traditional modes of thinking in photography, this idea can be applied to any field, including entrepreneurship. It’s about challenging the status quo, innovating, and creating new paths – fundamental aspects of successful entrepreneurship and innovative thinking.

  • The Philosophy of Chainlink

Currently I am invested in chainlink, a new type of technology which leverages the blockchain for interesting use cases.

    Dumb it down!

So the first thought is this; what is it why does it matter?

First, issues. The first really big issue at hand is that now and into the future, it will be very difficult to ascertain what is true and what is false, especially on the Internet.

What is the biggest issue? Especially with the upcoming elections, the fear that Donald Trump is going to be reelected or whatever… It seems that chain-link, and the block chain would be very good in terms of voting. For example, a voting system built on the block chain or chain-link could be useful in so far much as you know it cannot be tamperproof.

    Therefore the first idea is this;

    Chainlink identity.

    Web 3.0 is identity

Another hot take I have is that what is Web 3.0? Not all of this mumbo-jumbo, But instead… Having a true online identity.

For example, I often forget my passwords and other things, my identity card etc. As a consequence, it seems that the easiest one is to just remember my phone number and use that as a login, whether it be for Facebook, etc.

    The future?

I have always been fascinated with the future, it is a topic which endlessly fascinates me. Why? I think technology is all about the future. To me as a kid, technology was amazing because it was almost like the supercharger for myself.

One thing I find very interesting is how ERIC Schmidt is on board with chain-link. This is hugely fascinating to me because at this point, Google runs the world, Google *is* the Internet.

However what is the biggest issue here? If you spend enough time on Google, googling around, eventually sooner or later you’ll find weird conspiracy websites.

Not only that, but ERIC Schmidt also talks about how he is sick and tired of all these weird conspiracy theories, like how we never landed on the moon etc. As a consequence, maybe one of the interesting use cases of chain-link is that it could debunk, or false fly conspiracy theories?

    KARL POPPER —

True wisdom knowledge and intelligence is to falsify or to debunk nonsense?

    Why does this matter?

Truth be told, Facebook might have been indirectly culpable for strange results in the US American presidential elections. Why? Essentially Donald Trump got trillions of dollars a free advertising from all this fake news being spread around, etc. As a consequence, he got into office, and all of this weird stuff happened. My personal thought is if Facebook did not exist, if Twitter did not exist, Donald Trump probably wouldn’t have been elected into office.

    What else?

What is real and what is fake?

i’m currently playing a lot and playing around with ChatGPT, AI, DALL-E, and this is what I have learned:

Even ChatGPT doesn’t know whether something was created by ChatGPT or not!

Similarly speaking, I’m also certain that it is difficult to ascertain whether an image was created by AI or not.

ChatGPT probably doesn’t know whether an image was created by DALL-E or not.

    An interesting use case for chainlink;

Could chain-link or block chain or some sort of crypto technology allow you to verify whether something was created by human or a robot?

Truth verification for NFT things and art?

Even another thought on NFT, non-fungible tokens; can you figure out whether the NFT was created by human or a bot?

    Why does this matter?

I find this highly important for many reasons. One of the main reasons is that I think a lot of the mental health issues we face in today’s world is because of the Internet, all of this fear porn, fake news etc.

Therefore, if chainlink, or these new technologies could help falsify information on the Internet which makes people depressed or makes people fearful; this is good.

    What else?

A decentralized Oracle, the oracle as the truth finder, imagine the old African-American lady in the matrix.

The difficult thing with truth finding is that everyone purports to be telling the truth, but how do you know who is *really* telling the truth?

    Quotes

Certainly! Here are some quotes from Eric Kim’s perspectives on Chainlink:

    1. On Chainlink’s Essence: “Essentially it is a platform built upon Ethereum, solidity, the block chain… That strives to solve real world problems” oai_citation:1,Why Chainlink? – ERIC KIM.
    2. On the Oracle Problem: “The general gist of the Oracle problem is that you have all these people purporting to say something… How do you know if someone is really telling the truth or not?” oai_citation:2,Why Chainlink? – ERIC KIM.
    3. On Chainlink’s Potential: “My personal thought and prediction is that chain-link could become the next Google; Google index the whole Internet, and made it easy for you to find any sort of website. What I think chain-link will do is link all of this information on the Internet and computers and make them accessible, trustworthy, tamperproof” oai_citation:3,Why Chainlink? – ERIC KIM.
    4. On Investment Decision: “Therefore, I sold or transferred or converted nine of my bitcoin and put it all into chain-link, at the time it was valued at ~20,800 LINK (CHAINLINK), with bitcoin at around $35,000 a bitcoin” oai_citation:4,Why Chainlink? – ERIC KIM.
    5. On His View of Bitcoin: “I love bitcoin but maybe one of the big issues here is that bitcoin is like digital money and gold; most people just hold onto it, and I don’t think actually aspire to use it to actually pay for your latte at Starbucks or whatever” oai_citation:5,Why Chainlink? – ERIC KIM.
    6. On Technology and Future: “I am obsessed with the future. Future thinking, future technologies, new brave worlds to discover” oai_citation:6,Why Chainlink? – ERIC KIM.
    7. On Life Beyond Wealth: “For me, I think a more interesting life trajectory is to then no longer care for money, and use your power mind and soul and body for more interesting things which can include philosophy, writing, thinking, doing research, reading, making art, publishing art, etc” oai_citation:7,Why Chainlink? – ERIC KIM.
    8. On Practical Applications of Chainlink: “I think chain-link can be a technology which motivates and enables more streamlined home buying processes” and “Imagine a future in which you could use chain-link or some sort of block chain enabled identification, which can essentially be your global citizen passport to all of the world and the Internet” oai_citation:8,Why Chainlink? – ERIC KIM.

    Summary

Here’s a numerical summary of Eric Kim’s perspective on Chainlink:

    1. Platform Basis: Chainlink is built upon Ethereum and Solidity.
    2. Key Problem Addressed: Focuses on the Oracle problem.
    3. Innovation: Decentralized oracle network.
    4. Personal Prediction: Chainlink could become as integral as Google in organizing internet information.
    5. Investment Strategy: Converted significant Bitcoin holdings into Chainlink, aiming for a 30-year hold.
    6. Technological Interest: Has been involved with technology since around 11 years old.
    7. Beyond Financial Goals: Envisions using resources for philosophy, writing, art, and more.
    8. Practical Applications: Potential use in real estate and identity verification.

    Why Chainlink?

Eric Kim’s perspective on Chainlink, as found on his blog, reveals a multifaceted view of this blockchain platform. He regards Chainlink as a platform built upon Ethereum and Solidity, aiming to address real-world problems like the Oracle problem, which pertains to verifying truth in data provided by different sources. Kim emphasizes the innovation of Chainlink’s decentralized oracle network, which he believes adds robustness compared to centralized systems oai_citation:1,Why Chainlink? – ERIC KIM oai_citation:2,Why Chainlink? – ERIC KIM.

Kim perceives Chainlink as akin to the internet’s hyperlinks, binding various elements together to form a coherent whole. He predicts that Chainlink could become as integral as Google in organizing and making accessible a vast array of information on the internet, ensuring it is accessible, trustworthy, and tamper-proof oai_citation:3,Why Chainlink? – ERIC KIM.

Regarding his personal investment strategy, Kim shares that he transferred a significant amount of Bitcoin into Chainlink, motivated by a long-term view of holding onto Chainlink for at least 30 years. This decision reflects his belief in Chainlink’s potential and a strategic move away from Bitcoin, which he sees as more of a digital asset to hold rather than a currency for everyday transactions oai_citation:4,Why Chainlink? – ERIC KIM oai_citation:5,Why Chainlink? – ERIC KIM.

Kim’s long-standing interest in technology and the future underpins his enthusiasm for blockchain and cryptocurrency. He has been involved with technology from a young age and sees cryptocurrencies

  • NOBODY CARES.

Only you care! And this is good!

Also a new funny thing that I’ve been thinking about a lot more recently; for the most part, I just want to be left alone?

  • What is the point of media?

for Example, one thing I’ve been thinking a lot about is the difference between shooting videos of yourself from an outside perspective, versus a point of view perspective.

One thing I like about the point of view perspective, the POV concept is that with POV, you literally put others in your shoes.

For example, in the context of pornography, it looks like virtual reality, point of view POV pornography videos are very interesting to people. Why? You don’t want to see somebody else doing it, do you want to pretend like it is you!

    So why does this matter?

The reason why I think this matters so much is that it looks like media is taking over.

for example, being here in Culver City, Los Angeles California… I see and predict that this is essentially the new epicenter for media, the new Hollywood.

For example, a lot of people I meet here I’ll work in the production industry, casting, etc. And as a consequence, it looks like a lot of these people what they are seeking is to keep pumping out new TV shows, online shows, streaming services shows, for Apple TV+, Netflix, Hulu, etc.

We have an insatiable appetite for media.

what is the final goal? Media. whether photos videos pictures etc.

even social media, which is essentially just Facebook – Instagram at this point— essentially the formula is simple:

I provide you the pipes and the infrastructure, you upload your videos photos and ideas… And I will monetize it by putting advertisements in between that which you publish.

even looking at the new GoPro, the new GoPro hero 12 and the max; it is actually super interesting that there’s a new function to create very dynamic vertical videos, considering that it looks like most people are just watching videos on their phone vertically.

don’t recall the first time I use Snapchat, and how confused I was because I could only shoot videos and photos vertically. As a Fara Pham so used to tilting it, but it looks like the new trend is everything is vertical.

even when I was in Vietnam, it looks like Samsung put out a really big new AK TV, which is just a vertical display.

    Philosophical thoughts on media

first, there is some media which is good, like some music some shows, some ideas. For example, certain movies which has had a major impact in my life include the matrix, fight club, maybe the original Batman series by Christopher Nolan, the movie 300.

    Bad media?

it looks like a lot of people use AirBuds noise canceling headphones etc. to just drown out their inner torment and sorrow. This is pretty sad.

my personal thought is that with media, maybe it should be social, or, it should intercept you with good ideas.

also education. For example a lot of the videos I share, the only reason I do it is because I have a passion for sharing information knowledge and ideas.
