Are Your Photos Sincere or Insincere?

It ain’t about good or bad photos — it is about sincere or insincere photos.

What’s the difference?

A sincere photo:

You genuinely love the photo and care for it.

An insincere photo:

You do it for social media, because you think it will get a lot of “likes”.

Why sincere photos?

Only you can gauge your own personal sincerity in your photos. The upside of making sincere photos:

You never lose motivation to go out and make new photos!

There is no moral evil for making insincere photos. The only downside of striving to get lots of likes on social media is this:

You might lose your passion for photography.

The joy of making photos for yourself, for fun.

I’m convinced — the ultimate purpose and point of photography is for you to have fun and enjoy yourself. To gain pleasure and joy from shooting photos, selecting and processing your photos, and sharing and publishing them.
