Why I Love Photography

Some of my favorite photos and why I love these photos:

1. Photography is instant art

First of all, I love photography because it is instant-art-work. I can make a painting in 1/500th of a second– ain’t that great?

2. Photography pushes me outside of my comfort zone

Would I really talk and engage with people covered in tattoos if photography wasn’t my passion? I don’t think so.

In praise of street photography.

3. Photography gives me a purpose to life

What is my self-directed purpose in life?

To promote photography. To discover deeper philosophical truths about photography. To motivate others to photograph more.

Why did I choose photography as my self-directed purpose in life?

Well — many reasons, both personal and selfish, and to help others (altruism).

With photography, I have been able to live a more interesting life.

I have been able to travel more, think more, meet more interesting people, etc.

Photography has also afforded me the ability to become self-employed, gaining freedom over my life.

4. Photography makes life more fun

Through photography, I have been able to live a more interesting and fun life! For example, shooting the music video with Cindy:

I believe photography is augmented reality. Adding photography to your life is adding sriracha sauce to your food (much more delicious).

5. Photography transforms reality

What I find fascinating about photography is this:

Photography gives you the power to transform reality.

For example, shooting with a flash CHANGES and TRANSFORMS the way you perceive reality! The same goes with black and white photography.

Conclusion: Only do what you love in life

A thought:

Don’t do anything in life you don’t want to do.

It is such a simple principle. However living like this takes much bravery and courage. Why? Others will hate you for it!

Only shoot photos you care for. Select photos that you like.

Pursue your love and passion for photography to the deepest depth!
