Recently just going to Mexico, checking out the monarch butterfly immigration thing, close to VALLE DE BRAVO– an interesting thought:
First, I had no idea but it was an ultra extremely hard-core hike to make it to the very top! Considering I’m also a handholding 50 pounds Seneca, also wearing a backpack full of heavy water, and also wearing my ERIC KIM portfolio bag, on my left shoulder, it was a lot of weight. Simply put, I wanted to ditch it all!
Which gave me a beautiful metaphor to life, if you wanna make it to the summit, you must get rid of all weight as much as humanly possible!
Lightening your load, metaphorically and literally
There’s like literally a lot of stuff which holds us down, both metaphorically and literally.
First the materials thoughts; it really does seem best when you’re traveling, hiking or whatever or being active… It really really really makes sense to use the lightest materials possible, even though they may not be as durable?
Lightness over durability
For example, world class cyclists use carbon fiber bikes, even though they are much more fragile compared to steel ones. And also truth be told, after world travels through Southeast Asia and Vietnam and insanely humid hot weather… 100% merino wool is still the best bet, even though it is insanely fragile. I’ve literally gone through like seven 100% outlier.nyc merino wool shirts — but they are still the best!
