Why do people seek to become uglier?

Ugly clothes, ugly bodies, ugly facial hair etc.

Ugliness is their virtue.

Why do they love being ugly or prefer being ugly?

Theory — this new weird modern day perverted ethics and virtue — to be beautiful is a vice?
