Be very skeptical of very long papers. Just because something is longer does it mean that it is more intelligent or better.

Similar that great poetry or aphorisms are very short, yet profound. Also, great essay should be relatively short, distilled, to the point, yet simple and elegant. Avoid long and (boring) books and papers. If it bores you, it probably isn’t good or true.
