Why unlimited and buffets are bad

I’ve always been a big fan of all you can eat Korean barbecue, and more recently all you can eat shabu shabu. And every birthday I go to Fogo de Chão for unlimited Brazilian all you can eat barbecue.

But a recent realization: every time you go to all you can eat places, I typically have a stomach ache a little bit of indigestion or I’ve ate too much, or feel like I’ve eaten too little. it’s very difficult when you go to a buffet to eat just the right amount.

Applied further, perhaps we should apply this to life, and things in general?

Why having unlimited data, or unlimited entertainment and Netflix is bad

I’ve been doing this new thing, which is quite good. What I do is whenever I want to watch a film, I purchase it in Apple TV. Why? Skin in the game. If I’m actually willing to spend money to watch some thing, it’s actually worth my effort and time.

Compare this to streaming services, when you just watch things to kill brain cells rather than watching things discriminately.

Unlimited is good in theory

For example, sometimes I wish I had unlimited physiological energy and power. But, this would be bad. Certainly the human need to sleep is a good one.

This is a new thing with coffee intake been doing is having as much coffee is I want in the morning, first thing I wake up. But not having coffee during lunch time onwards. This is actually helps me become more productive in the morning and during the day, and sleep better at night.

The same thing goes with life. If you would live for an infinite amount of time, you would probably squander most of it, and actually not find much joy in it. The reason we have unlimited life is what makes it so enjoyable.
