A design thought: when it comes to clothes, tools, cars accessories and things, avoid the middle. Either get something that is small, or large. Avoid the middle size.
Either have a two seater sports car, or a big truck
It seems that my friend Don Dillon does it well: either own a two door and two seater sports car and a massive truck, rather than have a boring midsize sedan.
Why? This is the best way to harness the maximum add of both worlds. When you try to get a one size fits all situation, you don’t really deeply satisfy either desire.
Extreme aesthetics, or extreme performance
For example, when it comes to fashion, best to either wear an outfit which is extremely outlandish and impractical, or the lightest most functional clothing for traveling. Don’t try to optimize for both.
Camera thoughts
Another tip: either shoot with a Ricoh GR 3 digital camera, or a very large Pentax 645Z digital medium format camera. Avoid any camera in the middle. this is the best way to harness the maximum out of both.
The Ricoh GR 3 as the ultimate all day every day camera, and if you need the best image quality and performance, you cannot beat digital medium format.
In other words, avoid full frame.
Weight lifting
Another thought: when you’re lifting weights either lift the heaviest you could possibly lift, or just do bodyweight exercises. Avoid the middle weights.
In other words, better to attempt a one rep max in your deadlift, than churn out 10 repetitions of four sets in orderly fashion.
Boxing
Similarly speaking, it seems either the heavyweight fights or the very featherweight fights are more interesting than the middleweight fights.
The featherweight fights for the maximum speed and excitement. The heavyweight fights for the maximum power. Middleweights are a little bit boring, as it doesn’t optimize for either.
Avoid softcore
Also when it comes to erotic matters, either be chaste or hard-core, avoid the soft core.
