I am convinced— almost all advertising is bad. Why?

Most of modern technology and internet companies monetize your attention.

Now this isn’t “evil”— just annoying. I personally hate being “primed” to think or feel a certain way, or also being “nudged” to behave or act a certain way.

For example, I hate the Google Chrome “discover” or “explore” ‘suggested articles’ with a passion. Same goes with suggested related videos on YouTube — pure distractions when I don’t want to get distracted!

Even more annoying and egregious of lately:

All these ads which pop up in Google Maps, which distract me before and while driving.

I envision a more beautiful world and future which is AD-FREE.

How to make money on the internet or with the internet that doesn’t require advertising?

The next trillion dollar industry:

How to monetize the internet and modern technologies which do not require advertising.

One of my personal pursuits, passions and interests.

Also social media which doesn’t require playing with your emotional heart strings, and doesn’t quantify your self worth? Anti “crowd sourcing your self esteem” (Kanye).
