It doesn’t matter if Robert Frank has already done it
Robert Frank’s “The Americans” is considered the classic. But my critique:
Robert Frank was an outsider when he shot America, not a citizen and someone who was raised here.
Thus his view is from an outsider. If you grew up in the states, I encourage you to start your own photography project of America; your own vision of America.
How I started my ‘Only in America‘ Project

My Only in America project was inspired by a JAY Z line (Only in America!)
I thought to myself:
What a good chance for me (while living in East Lansing, Michigan) to start a photography project on America and show MY personal view and perspective of America.
All views and perspectives are equally legitimate
We need a wider plurality and diversity of imagery when it comes to America. This is your duty.
Is there a right or wrong way to do it?

Certainly not. My suggestion:
Just keep making photos based on a general theme about your vision of ‘America’, and keep editing your portfolio and figuring it out as you go.
