Existential Work

Assuming that we will now live in a post-monetary society, where money doesn’t really do us much, then begs the question:

Why work?

To exist

Exist — ex+sisto. From the proto-Indo-European “stísteh₂ti” and “steh2-“— which literally means to stand.

My gist is this:

To exist is to stand somewhere in embodied reality.

If you’re a human, and you’re currently standing somewhere — you exist!

Funny thought:

If you’re sitting and not standing somewhere, you don’t metaphorically “exist”.
