Weakening or Strengthening?

Something to think about when it comes to aesthetics:

Does it weaken you or strengthen you?

My thesis:

Perhaps the root of aesthetics (beautiful or ugly) is based on physiology. Meaning — beautiful things strengthen us, and ugly things weaken us.

For example when I think about art and design, I have a strong taste and preference for what I like:

  1. Lamborghini cars
  2. Yeezy 350 Sneakers

What do these things have in common? An aggressive stance.

I like aggressive design — because it perhaps matches my philosophical ideal of aggressiveness?

Art values

Perhaps the art we create is a reflection of our own moral, ethical, and philosophical values.

If aesthetics are ethics, then it means that our artwork is a reflection of us. We are our artwork, and our artwork is us. A synthesis of artist and creation (not as separate).

There is no such thing as the objective artist

We must embrace our subjectiveness. Trying to be objective means to fossilize ourselves. The root of life is subjectiveness.
