Photos of Richard Avedon, traced with iPad and Procreate app.
Purpose: To understand why Avedon’s portraits are so strong.
My ideas:
- Lots of dynamic curves, turned bodies, and edgy poses.
- Focus on subtle hand gesture and body language.
- Simple, minimalist white background.
- Catching the photo at the moment the subject becomes vulnerable.
- Avedon showing his own soul in his photos by engaging with his subject.
