Perhaps if the worst experience your life, thank god you were able to still live with half, but maintaining guard that half for the rest of your life with insane obedience… Better than if you had kept all of it… Maybe 12345, 678 910, 20 years down the line,,, you lost it all… perhaps the first scenario was the best scenario?
