What is Your Personal Photography Philosophy?

Tokyo, 2017

Dear friend, what is your personal photography philosophy?

What motivates you to make a photograph? Or what motivates you not to make a photograph?

Do you prefer to shoot every day? Or do you prefer to shoot only when you feel like it?

Do you like to photograph in your own neighborhood? Or do you prefer to only take photos while traveling?

What works for you?

There are no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ ways to photograph. Only photograph what works for you. You need a personal photography philosophy— because that is what is going to guide you in life.

Don’t seek to make photos according to the standards of others. Create your own rules in photography, and follow them.

Always,
Eric
