I love things which are timeless.

Timeless design. Timeless philosophy. Timeless friendships.

Things that don’t change over time — or if anything, get better with time.

Classics never die.

Avoid the new

Generally what is new and trendy will not be timeless. Time is the ultimate test.

That means, avoid the new. Whenever a new device comes out, never buy the first generation. It is generally riddled with problems.

Trust things that are tested with time.

Trust food that has been eaten by your grandmother’s grandmother.

Trust design that has existed for at least 50-100 years.

Trust philosophy and books that have been around for at least 100 years.

Trust friendships that have lasted the longest— they will usually last even longer.

Love the classics

Avoid new fashions, new philosophies, and new trends. You will save a lot of time, money, and effort.

Stick to the timeless, and you will find a lot more zen.

Always,
Eric
