ONCE YOU HIT THE 9 PLATES AND MAX OUT THE BAR, THEN WHAT?
Hit the 8 plates and 35 the other day for atlas lift (ERIC KIM LIFT), and have a funny conundrum:
I am about to max out the bar.
The issue is that given the limited space on the other side of the bar, it seems I can only jump in weight from a single 35 plate to a 45 pound plate. So given I hit the 9 plates for my atlas lift (I am certain I can do)— then what? Find a new gym?
Perhaps towards an interesting life philosophy—
The worst thing is when you got nothing higher to challenge yourself towards.
Morale of the story:
We must always have a more monster of a challenge to aspire towards and BEYOND!

How to Become More Influential
- Become harder, more stiff, rigid and stubborn in your thoughts belief and approach. Become more unyielding.
- Become more direct. Direct email newsletter over social media.
- Become more unorthodox. Being and thinking and acting and doing unorthodox will draw you more attention and viewers.
- Think fewer numbers but more elite. All you need is 300 (Spartans). Also note that the power and influence of Harvard comes from her small enrollment numbers. For example, the funny thing is that typically speaking, we think that higher numbers is better. However, let us note that the Harvard undergraduate student population for the current year is only 7000, compare that to the tens if not hundreds of thousands of students from the UC system. UCLA undergraduate student current year around 30,000. What is better, the very few people who own Lamborghinis, or the millions of people who own a Toyota Corolla?

-
What does power mean in a modern day context?
Power as influence, ability to do something or make something happen?
-
WE DERIVE MORE POWER FROM OUR ENVIRONMENT
Don’t think where you will be *happier*, but where you can become more POWERFUL.
-
THE STRONGEST, MOST POWERFUL CAR
Still the Tesla Model S Plaid.
Unless there is a car which can accelerate from 0-60 in LESS THAN 1.99 seconds, Tesla Model S Plaid is still the goat.
Ultra Red. Red as the most powerful and strong color.
-

How to Become More Powerful
- Sleep. 10-12 hours a night.
- Intermittent coffee — only in morning. None at noon or beyond. If you’re tired just take a power nap.
- Eat more beef — steak, ribs, organ meats. Aim for 4-5 pounds a night for dinner.
- Intermittent fasting during day — no breakfast no lunch, only 100% carnivore dinner.

Power *IS* Beauty?
The more powerful you are, the more beautiful you are? Power is ability.
-
Strength or Beauty?
The stronger you are, the more beautiful you are?
Thus perhaps it isn’t “beauty†we are searching for, but strength?
Strength is beauty?
-
Why does beauty matter?
First of all, beauty is a marker of health. The more beautiful the woman or man, it means the healthier they are, and the more fit they are in terms of children.
Secondly, beauty is a positive motivator and stimulus. In someways, being in a beautiful environment stimulates us to live and move.

What does it mean to become more “adventurous“?
First of all, just leaving the house, irregardless of the weather outside. The upside of goretex clothing, down, Gore-Tex jackets, powerful outdoor clothing.

Don’t Settle.
Keep searching, thinking. Innovating, attempting new.

How to Become More Beautiful
For us men — increase our muscle mass, our (natural) testosterone, stand taller, talk and speak louder and more confidently, make strong eye contact, and lower your body fat.
Also haircut — Brad Pitt FURY haircut. Clean shaven, in the face, and sides. Use hair wax or gel. Don’t hide your face with sunglasses, hats, accessories.
Get a tan. Full body tan. As much possible time outdoors in the natural sun with your shirt off.
Lift weights every day.

Also, don’t force yourself to eat more, or eat ad nauseum (until you hate yourself or feel nauseous). Don’t force yourself to “over eatâ€.

It is an i(Phone) not an i(Camera)
Perhaps best to just treat your iPhone like a phone (for FaceTime and the such), and a camera as its own thing?

Not the “best†or “most powerfulâ€, or the “fastestâ€, but the most beautiful car.

WHY DO IPHONE PHOTOS LOOK SO UGLY?
I don’t think I’ve ever seen an iPhone photo (Pro or not) which from an aesthetics perspective I found “beautifulâ€.
The technology is cool, the concept is cool, you can still make good and really good photos with it… but beautiful? Perhaps not.

The Will to Art

Theory — uber-abundance. One should never “force†oneself to make art. Art should simply flow out of you uncontrollably!

Life Goals?
There are two things which are certain; you are alive at the moment, and one day you will die. Therefore the question, what life goals do you have?
Are goals a trap?
There are different schools of thought behind this. One thought is that having goals, or certain life goals is a trap. For example Nietzsche said that every philosopher knew that inherent in every single goal is a trap, or some sort of cul-de-sac.
My personal thought is that life goals are some sort of anchor. Some sort of general direction you could head towards.
Something I have discovered for myself is that the hilarity is that once you achieve life goal, it doesn’t feel that significant. For example, a simple goal that I had more recently was doing an atlas lift of over 800 pounds, and I have far smashed that record, going around 835 pounds.
Maybe we could think of life goals as a methodology or approach — maybe my life goal is not achieving some sort of static goal, or point, but rather, thinking of a life goal as a process of never ending growth and gains.
What do bodybuilders want?
What do bodybuilders want? Never ending gains.
For example, if you observe the career of Ronnie Coleman, every single year at Mr. Olympia he was bigger, weighed more, and had more muscle mass. Granted that he was juicing his eyeballs out with steroids and other strange things, the general just of a bodybuilder this to never stop building his body. And I suppose building means making the body bigger, more muscles.
For example, let us say that a bodybuilder starts off at 160 pounds, at 5% body fat, with a six pack. The goal isn’t to simply weigh more, but, to remain small in terms of body fat percentage, and to put on more “muscle weightâ€.
-

How to Gain Muscle Mass Without Putting on Fat
The foolish approach of a lot of people is that they obsessively weigh themselves, and it seems that their goal is to just become heavier, reach a certain target weight, or track their progress in terms of their weight on the scale. For example, a lot of skinny guys who aspire towards bodybuilding always want to weigh more.
However, the reason why this is foolish is because you want to augment your muscle mass and your muscle weight, not your body fat and your fat weight.
Also, the reason why you should never weigh yourself is that because it is impossible to ascertain when you step on the scale, how much of that weight is muscle mass versus fat.
For example, let us say that you’re 160 pounds, and then you go up to 180 pounds. If that is 20 pounds of fat, that is bad.
Therefore what we want is “lean gains“. That means, to retain your same body fat percentage, let us say that is 5%, and then just keep augmenting your muscle mass.
The secrets:
- Intermittent fasting, no breakfast no lunch, only one insanely massive dinner. Aim to eat at least 4-5 pounds of meat a night. Preferably steak, beef ribs, organ meats, lamb, ground lamb, etc. Aldi or Costco Business Center is good to buy your meat.
- Lift fasted. The big myth is that you have to consume something, either snack, or, have a protein shake before workout and after working out. Proteins shakes, whey protein powder, creatine, pre-workout powder, etc. Stick to plain water and black coffee.

As you build it, you better understand it.

Thinking more ancient thoughts, Marcus Aurelius being grateful to his father for great tutors. Back in ancient times, there weren’t really schools; just private tutors.
