The Future of the Internet
Beautiful, insanely beautiful web experiences for the elite, and spammy ugly distracting experiences for the “middle classâ€, poor working class, everyone else.
For example I hate Gmail aesthetics and UI/UX. Apple iCloud Email at least 1000x more beautiful aesthetically.
-
iCloud Mail is Really Beautiful
Even on the web user interface!
I just did the custom email domain link with iCloud Plus plan — really love it!

I don’t like shirts?
For more bodily UV absorption, topless and no shirt on is best?
For example when I wake up first thing in the morning, just going on the patio, in the direct sun, and absorbing all of the suns rays is the most glorious way to wake up — no shirt on!
No shirt on means you have more surface area for your flesh!

Microsoft Explorer
Microsoft should re-re-brand “Edge†into “Explorerâ€.
-
Protector.
Protect — “avenger†actually means “protectorâ€. Protect your kid(s) and wife.
Protect that which you care for.

NEWS: How to Become a Thought Leader
The end goal for all successful people and whales (even Ray Dalio):
Why become a thought leader?
At least for us Americans, to become a thought leader seems to be the ultimate end goal. We become rich, then what? It seems this is the distraction:
- We seek to become rich because we think it will make us “happyâ€.
- But in actuality, happiness is not the real end goal.
- At the end, what we seek is more impact on planet earth — thoughts are the ultimate metaphysical (not bound by the laws of physics) thing.
The straight line.
Then, the straight line approach in life:
Disregard the money and getting rich thing. Instead, focus on the direct path to become a thought leader.
How to become a thought leader
- Harness all the media forms. Video, audio, vlog, blog, video podcast, audio podcast, photo, email, blog, website. The nuance — make sure you own the platform. Otherwise your ability to become a thought leader will become stunted, because extraordinary ideas will eventually get censored on social media (soft or hard censorship).
- Speak boldly. Don’t censor yourself, irregardless of how politically incorrect or insensitive you may be.
- Speak whenever you feel like it. Don’t follow any rules. Disregard notions of “publishing too muchâ€, or “not enoughâ€.
- Harness the power of Google and YouTube.
How to become #1 on Google
GOOGLE SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION (SEO) — and also YouTube SEO is simple:
- Create blog posts and upload YouTube videos (titles) basically how you would type it out yourself.
- Make it as meaty, juicy, and in depth as possible. Typically the longer it is, the higher it will be ranked.
- Time: It took me a decade to become #1 on Google for “street photographyâ€.
- Pave new concepts. For example, my farsighted ability to innovate the “photography entrepreneurship†concept. Don’t follow trends, follow your own gut, and try to predict what people will be interested in the future. For example the future of photography won’t be camera based or technological, it will be meaning-based and existential.
- “Skate to where the puck is GOING TO BE†(Wayne Gretzky)
- Link to others: Build influence through OUT-LINKING, not just “in-linking†to your own website or blog.
- Quote others, and link to them. Give them shout outs!
What do you do once you’re on top?
Then use your privilege to continually pave even deeper, more interesting, introspective and even more turbo thoughts! And help others on their journey as well!

Tech thoughts
- The best iPhone is iPhone SE— keep it and beat it!
- The best Apple device is (still) iPad Pro.
- The new Apple Watch Ultra is a great idea.
Lifting thoughts
- Better to attempt an insanely high weight and miss/fail it, then attempt a too low “realistic†weight and succeed.
- Trap bar is supreme for deadlift and “safestâ€. I just tried 562 pounds (255KG) and kinda lifted the weight. My personal courage for attempting it is what made me the most proud of myself!

- ERIC KIM NECK STRAP MARK II: I put my name on it.
Design thoughts
- The new Lamborghini Urus Performance — the future concept. “For bar raisers onlyâ€â€” great marketing.
- New iPhone Pro in purple great idea to differentiate it. They should also just get rid of the “Max†version to streamline their lineup (note the new really big iPhone size and no more mini size)

ERIC KIM 255 KG (562 POUNDS) DEADLIFT ATTEMPT
MY THIGHS CAN MOVE THE WORLD!

-
How do you know if you’re attempting enough in your deadlift?
If you can kinda lift it (even a tiny bit) off the ground, but ultimately you’re not strong enough (yet).
-
Not strong enough (yet)
This should be our motto to life!
Better to attempt something insanely audacious and epic, and fail, than be moderate and succeed.
Anti being â€realisticâ€.
-
THE ERIC KIM APPROACH.
Create your own program, method, approach.
-
Fast cars promote death.
Maybe this is a good reason not to get a fast car, or the fastest car; I can imagine owning a Tesla model S plaid, and trying to accelerate from 0 to 60, to show off, and through this process, either killing myself or somebody else. Or even worse, both.
Even worse, now that I got a kid, I also have my kid to live for. I do not want to die, because this means that Seneca will have to grow up without a father, my biggest fear.
-
The best things in life to pursue are ones which really require your focus.
Actually requires some sort of physical danger as well.
Therefore, the best life is the maximally focused life.
-
SUPREME FOCUS
The only thing I care for, and the only thing I should perhaps try to optimize for.
Perhaps the biggest upside of coffee and caffeine is that it increases your focus. Adrenaline as a hormone that promotes focus, especially in lieu of danger.
-
Losing your focus is dangerous
Recording yourself powerlifting is dangerous
-
Nobody cares how much you can squat.
However, we do care how much you can deadlift.
-
Empty your mind, fill up your body?
To build your body, empty your mind.
To build your mind, empty your body?
-
Just live your life as if you were a whale
A whale; somebody who may need to pay $10 million in income tax this year.
What do whales do with their time? It seems that they all end up doing philosophical pursuits, body strengthening things, and artistic creative ones and existential ones. It also seems that they want to become “thought leaders“.
Therefore, the interesting idea, perhaps having clout is more important than money, because the more clout you have, the more you can become a thought leader. Thoughts are more important than money.
And also, when you’re making certain life decisions, just ask yourself: rather than, this is going to make me more money? Think—“Is this going to help me build more clout?â€, or is this going to help me become more of a thought leader?

Thank God for the Chinese
Oh can you imagine a life without Apple products? And no, the economics would not work if Apple produced all the things in the states.
Also, a personal thing I am grateful for is the chinakettlebell.com open hex bar I have access to in my gym here in Phnom Penh, MONKIFIT GYM.
Perhaps there is a great advantage of innovation been born in the states, and being produced abroad, somewhere that is cheaper, and has access to a greater servile workforce.
The reason why I don’t think Americans make for great service line workers or producers is this: they are too individualistic, and they see the labor as beneath them. Asians don’t really question it, they just treat it like a job.
Asians don’t see their job is their identity, whereas Americans do.
The benefit of the Vietnamese notion of your “right hand job†vs your “left-handed jobâ€. Your right handed job is a job you need to make a living, whereas your left handed job is your passion.
Therefore, if your goal is to maximize both your income and your passion, maybe it is best to further separate and barbell the two. For example, it seems I have made far more money in cryptocurrency speculation then in photography and teaching workshops and selling products.

How do we learn to hate our faces?
Perhaps too much obsession with media, comparing our faces with other faces we see on the big screen.
I am very anti-plastic surgery in the face. Only in the tail end cases, in which one has injured their face, perhaps as a Consequence of a traumatic accident, or some sort of genetic disease.
For example, the trend for Asians, or Koreans to try to get a plastic surgery for their nose, to make it more “pointy “, and lifted, like individuals from Caucasian descent.
Or, the traditional Korean female “sangapool†double eyelid surgery. If you look at traditional Korean masks of women, the traditional beauty is having small eyes.
-
Nationalism vs Race
To some extent, you can choose your nation-hood or nationality (where do you pay taxes?) but you cannot choose your race (your genetic makeup).
-
Why are we so ashamed of our actions?
For example, why is it so considered so rude to stare?
-
TAKE YOUR TIME.
Rushing things ruins things, often leads to injuries which will last for weeks, or even death (Better to lose one minute of your better, than lose your life in one minute).
For example, do not rush your warm-up, or your workout. We need to aim for longevity.
Worse to just shave 30 minutes off your workout routine, in order to save a little time, rather than prevent yourself from going into the gym for weeks, or even worse, months.
Also, don’t rush to always get yourself back in the gym. If you’re exhausted, just eat more meat and sleep. And cut caffeine and coffee during your recovery period. Don’t force productivity.
Do you remember when Samsung tried to rush out their newest phone, how they caused their batteries to explode? A short term foolish decision; it really hurt Samsung‘a brand image for years.
Or, when you rush a construction thing, serious injuries or death can occur. Even my friend Tim, his young 20 something-year-old nephew died, one falling off the ladder. Apparently this is very common.
-
I hate slow flow!
I really really hate slow flowing purified water faucets.
-
HOW DOES ONE BECOME MORE MASCULINE?
Some theories:
- Higher one rep max lifts for deadlift (trap bar), squat (micro squats), floor bench press
- Higher meat, red meat, beef consumption. The redder red color of beef— an indicator of higher nutritional density and quality/power? Higher concentration of myoglobin in red meat as a good indicator?
- More godlike sleep. 12 hours a night.
-
Lamborghinis are for losers
Real men would either prefer a Ford Shelby mustang, or a Tesla model S plaid. ADM — American domestic market, American muscle is the future.
Or another words, would you rather look like Arnold Schwarzenegger, or would you rather look like a BTS member? I would choose Arnold.
-
How long do you want to live in one place? Or *SHOULD* live in one place?
Th dilemma of the digital nomad.
-
DEADLIFT IS KING.
If you only ever do deadlifts, and never squats, would there be any downside?
Besides the fact that you may not be able to hit the gym as often or frequently, and not compete in powerlifting competitions, I don’t think so.
Perhaps we should only ultimately think of the squat as an accessory workout for deadlift.
-
Why this trend towards androgyny?
Trying to blend Hermès and Aphrodite, to create a hermaphrodite. Should Hermès and Aphrodite be separate? I think so.
-
Are there any great American philosophers?
The only one I could think of is Nassim Taleb, Lebanese born, but bred in the states.
We can also think of Steve Jobs as a philosopher, in terms of his aesthetics, and his ethos for technology. Blending zen minimalism, with technology.
Peter Thiel, also as probably more of a philosopher than entrepreneur, although he is great at both. His book ZERO TO ONE as a philosophy book meets tech entrepreneurship.
Kanye West also as philosopher, although not in the traditional sense.
-
Don’t buy medium
At least one of the good things, is that as I’m becoming buffer and more swole, my medium sized shirt is becoming tighter. Perhaps large is better.
Better to have a bigger shirt, and have something to aspire to grow in, rather than to have something small.
Perhaps this is how getting bigger things is better:
By having something bigger, and larger, you anticipate the need for buffer.
Size and scalability. The upside of getting shoes half a size up for your (growing) kids.
-
ADM— AMERICAN DOMESTIC MARKET.
Shelby over Lamborghini.
-
PAINOLOGY
Pain has degrees. The types of pain, the nuances of pain.
-
THINK INSANELY LOCAL
What if you could never leave one square block radius of your house?
-
TIMING.
Timing is everything. For example, good to have coffee first thing in the morning, very bad to have coffee before you sleep.
-
Cars are for slaves
The real elite don’t own cars.
-
Weapons promote peace. No peace without weapons
My thought why a World War III will not happen, no nation in the world desires nuclear holocaust. Not the Americans, not the Chinese, etc.
Maybe the only fear should be North Korea. But then again, even if North Korea created a nuclear holocaust, then the Kim Jong dynasty will not have access to their Mercedes cars.
-
Control their bodies
Suits — too hot and restricted movement. Also leather shoes. The modern day Chinese foot binding?
If you can control their bodies, then you can control their souls.
