The soul of the photographer: the essence of the photographer. How the photographer sees the world (their perspective), their aesthetic and ethical choices, their subject matter, and their personal philosophy.
The mortal soul
I don’t believe in an immortal soul — I believe in a mortal soul (a soul which dies when you die). Thinking of the soul from more of a scientific and Aristotle’s perspective— the soul as the psyche, or the life-force essence of a human.

The photographer embeds themself into their photos

You’re more important than your photos. Your photos are a reflection of you, you aren’t a reflection of your photos. This means:
The photos you decide to make showcase your soul, being, and perspective.
Thus the goal isn’t to make “betterâ€photos, but instead to more clearly communicate and embed your soul into your photographs!
Breathe life into your photos

Soul as breath. Blow life into your photos! This means:
- Animate your photos: Dynamic movement in your photos.
- Display your personal aesthetic choices in your photos.
- Photograph that which is personal to you.
