Adventure more, travel more, become more.

So currently been on the road for close to two months now… Just for summer break. About a month and a half in Phnom Penh Cambodia, week in Hong Kong, and now Tokyo Japan for about two weeks.

What’s really fascinating is when you uproot and move a bit… It gives you a totally new perspective. You see novel sites, which gives you novel thoughts, novel ways about thinking about the world.

I think this is also a big thing because… Getting stuck in your old ways of thinking is actually quite detrimental and holds you back.

Breaking into new thinking

I think for myself at the end of the day, what I value the most our thoughts, novel thoughts, Turbo thoughts, god thoughts ,,,, Which stimulate my mind body soul and physiology to go beyond.

How and why

I thought this maybe like five years ago and I still think it is true that the best life is like a kind of seminomadic life… A Hybrid… Having a foundation somewhere, and also spending the rest of the year on the road. I wonder if this is how ghenghis khan , the Mongolians, Julius Caesar, Napoleon kept so lean and fit –> typically being rooted for anywhere for too long is quite degenerative.

Thoughts on the road

The first thought is, perhaps the principle of life is movement, both metaphorical literal… And also physiological.

For example, nobody would want to live in a glass cube high-rise condo for the rest of their lives, without having the privilege of just going outside and walking.

And I think this is also where photography is so fast because it deals with embodied reality and movement. The math and calculus is simple:

Move more, see more, witness more, experience more,,, have more opportunities for the desire to make photos.

Also typically… I think there is a deep link between movement and thoughts. Even Nietzsche said,

Trust no thought which doesn’t come to you by walking!

Even nassim Taleb says,

To become a philosopher, first start by walking … very slowly.

Why thoughts and thinking?

I think for us philosophers, to think, to have novel thoughts, or even have the mental and physical physiology to think might be one of the greatest privileges on planet earth. No thoughts, no life…. a kind of spiritual death.

I think the whole thing about Zen Taoist stoic practice is… getting rid of BS noise and thoughts, in order to give more room energy and mental space for your own novel thoughts.

thoughts and ideology rule the world

This is the big idea and unlock, everything that runs you and the planet is actually based on ideas and ideology.

For example, capital, capitalism says, acquire more capital and build more capital and accumulate more capital by any means possible for the sake of it.

Consumerism says work hard harder to earn more money in order to earn more spending power to buy more things, with higher quality rank and caliber.

What do you truly prize?

Every single society has a different value system. Whether it be freedom (America), Social order (Japan), peace and harmony (Cambodia) etc. and typically wherever you live does breed that kind of ideology in you. So choose carefully where you decide to live, spend your time … because where you live, experience life etc… determines much of your life!
