Buying more of it — something we desire for the sake of it?
I suppose the critique of cash dollars, US dollars, USD is that we don’t want it for the sake of it… We want it for the sake of something else.
The problem about holding your wealth in US dollars, just ones and zeros in a typical banking account, or even having bands of $100 bills is that surely but slowly… that money is becoming devalued.
Prime example: LA County I believe just changed the minimum wage laws for fast food workers, commanding $20 USD now! This is insane. That is literally the same hourly wage or salary that I received when I graduate UCLA as an undergraduate, with a four-year degree!
