The Philosophy of Progress

What is progress, and why?

Progress as an aesthetic thing

What cars look like “progress”? What clothes and homes and cities look like “progress”?

Cleaner, more green (more trees, verdant), less pollution. More electric vehicles which are silent, deeper integration with nature, more light, more pedestrian walking and more human friendly (less car friendly). More street life, cafe and coffee shop culture life (like Roma Norte in Mexico City). More time spent outdoors, in public than at home.

Progress as growth

Human progress as growth— muscular mass growth, strength growth, technological growth, and life which becomes more simple, effective, efficient and streamlined.

The future human as high in muscle mass, physiological vigor, low in body fat, high in optimism and joy.

Photographic progress

Photographic progress more about motivation, more curiosity, and continual photographic productivity.

What is technological progress?

Fewer distractions. A more streamlined, aesthetically beautiful life.

Faster, simpler, better.
