Why it is good to be polarizing
I think it is perhaps Christian morality that says, make everybody like you, be an enemy to nobody, and do not polarize. But what if the best secret was to polarize? That the road to success and victory is through polarization, not having everyone like you?

The best design is polarizing: that is, people either really love it or really hate it. The last thing you want is lukewarm design, that people don’t really have an opinion about, in which people are indifferent towards.
Polarizing opinions
Also, best to have an opinion which polarizes people. The worst is being an uber moderate. Moderate, and moderation is boring. Nobody cares for a moderate politician. People either prefer politicians on the extreme left, like a Bernie Sanders, or the extreme right like a Donald Trump.
Or when it comes to music and art, best to polarize. For example, think about how polarizing the artwork of Piet Mondrian was. And his artwork and theories endure. Or consider entrepreneurs like Kanye West or Elon musk. Their polarizing opinions is what makes them so popular. Or polarizing philosophers like Nasim Taleb.
The rare for the rare
Do you want to become more rare, or more common place? Then the goal is to polarize.
