In praise of sleeper aesthetics, that is low-key aesthetics.

What are sleeper aesthetics?

Generally speaking, a sleeper aesthetic is something that is low-key. For example they typically talk about cars as being sleepers, which is a car that looks super ordinary and plain Jane from the outside, but it’s super fast and souped up on the inside.

And this is what I realize: a lot of people strive to buy things which are very very high key for example flashy cars and flashy possessions. But perhaps is better for our things and our material goods to be low-key, and our personality and her attitude and writings to be high Key, loud and extraordinary.

And then it becomes a funny thing that the low-key aesthetic becomes an aesthetic thing. For example the Leica MP camera, which is the Leica M professional, where the red dot which is loud and attention attracting and stripped out. Then assumed that the new luxury is to be low-key, and in some ways anonymous.

So I supposed to take away is this: strive to become more low-key in your external appearance, and more high key in your mind, artwork and creative self-expression.
