The Upside of a Smaller Canvas

Just gave away my iPad Pro to my mom, who has been making great art works with Procreate app. Which leaves me without an iPad — just my laptop and phone.

Been doing some sketches with iPhone and procreate and zen brush 2– and there are some upsides of having a smaller canvas:

The general upsides are that with a smaller canvas and screen, you must truly just focus on a “visual gist” of something while spurning the details.

Economy of movement.

With a smaller canvas, you don’t need to move your hand or finger as much when making digital art works. This allows for greater efficiency, and less fatigue of movement.

It’s always with you.

iPhone as always with you — no excuse to not write, think, read, or create.
