The harder you go, the harder you must also recovery! To force yourself to recover is also an active thing!
We cannot just force endless productivity with no recovery.
Work hard, recover hard.
Why is it that Tom Brady goes to sleep at 7:30pm every night?
By this same line of reasoning, what we should do:
Go harder and more extreme, for shorter durations of time.
For example better to get 1 hour of insane productivity in a day than 10 hours of “middle effort” work.
Hot and cold
Icy cold showers in the morning to get you going. Strong cups of black coffee. And in the evening after dinner, really hot baths to relax your muscles (finish icy cold shower). As a rule, don’t work after dinner. Read books and go to sleep.
In fact I believe it takes more skill and discipline to sleep earlier than to wake up earlier.
