Who Owns the Media?

Just a few mega-conglomerates. For example, Hearst Communications owns:

  1. Car and Driver
  2. Cosmopolitan
  3. ELLE
  4. Esquire
  5. Food Network Magazine
  6. Harper’s BAZAAR
  7. Marie Claire
  8. O, Oprah Magazine
  9. Popular Mechanics
  10. Road & Track
  11. Seventeen
  12. Men’s Health
  13. Women’s Health
  14. A+E Networks (50% stake with Walt Disney Corporation)
  15. ESPN Inc (they own 20% stake, with Walt Disney who owns 80%)
  16. Blackbook
  17. XM Satellite Radio
  18. Geneaology.com

And a lot of other stuff.

Why does this matter?

Essentially if there is just one mega corporation which owns all the media, that means they own our minds.
