I’ve never cared for politics. Why? My experiences and thoughts:
I care more for everyday lived experiences than abstract notions of ‘politics’
When we think about ‘politics’, we are dealing with an abstract machine. I care more for real human beings in the flesh. Talking to people face to face, not following the news (I have always been anti-news).
What is politics anyway?
My friend Dave Paulson (academic at Temple University) has a theory, called the world wrestling theory. The basic gist:
Politics is just wrestling (like the WWF, WCW, or WWE).
Donald Trump was actually on the WWF. Thus he knows how to play the game!
Politics is this:
Get people entertained and riled up!
Watching wrestling … we all know it is fake. Shouldn’t we think the same for politics?
