In Praise of Procrastination

Procrastination isn’t a disease which needs to be cured. No — it’s a hidden intelligence deep in your body which must be obeyed.

“Procrastination is the souls rebellion against entrapment.” – Taleb

Delay as long as humanly possible.

I delayed making a lot of my workshops this year and thank god. COVID happened.

Now, I cannot know these things before hand, but planning too far in advance is generally bad. Why? As time goes on, there is more chaos, uncertainty, and randomness. Even to plan a month ahead seems intangible right now.

Why are we taught that procrastination is bad and evil?

Utilitarian philosophy. Money making. The more you delay, the less you produce, and the less money you make.

Avoid “naive intervention”

For a lot of things, if you wait, your body heals itself. For example, instead of getting a horrendous knee surgery, better to do physical therapy by yourself and let your body slowly (yet surely) recover! The body is Antifragile.

Time reveals all.

The longer you wait, marinate, let things ferment, culture, and age, the better.

When in doubt, delay.

Worked well for me thus far!
