What’s the origins source of money, wealth, income?

Exploitation of … resources, planet, plants, animals, other humans, energy, etc.

Something cannot come out of nothing.

Maybe with computers and IT, new wealth is created from information, or the enslavement of computers.

Wealth is food

In Ancient Greek times, wealth was:

• Food
• Gold
• Bronze
• Iron
• Silver
• Human slaves
• Animals

How did they procure it? Through war, conquest, trade.

Note in Ancient Greek times, “money” didn’t yet exist. Rather, it seemed that currency were either talents of gold (one talent of gold = 70 pounds), or heads of ox (for example, to sacrifice to the gods they would do a ‘hecatomb’, which was 100 oxen — an insane sum of wealth).

The origin of capital (cows).

Even notions of “capital” come from “caput” (head of cattle).

What’s the ultimate wealth? Food. Then labor of animals.

Money as quantified trust

This is where bitcoin is so interesting. It comes down to faith. Like having a digital “ledger” (written law, or contract between two humans).

For example let us say I promise you to do x, y, z. I then might pay you money in order to fulfill this desire. And it is money which is quantified human labor, or a form of trust.

How do banks work?

Banks work in the hope that a human will promise to pay back a certain sum of money in a certain period of time.

What happens when we are no longer reliable to pay things back?

This is where things go bad. When we can no longer pay back our debts (debt is slavery). In the past if you could not pay back your debts, you were sold into slavery or your children were sold into slavery.

Thus you cannot call any man with debt (any debt, even the “good ones”) as being a free man.

Once again, a free man has NO DEBT. No home mortgage. No car payment.

Liberty is the goal.
