Delay sharing your opinion
First — if you are not sure what your opinion is, you can delay. Tell people:
I have not yet formulated my opinion. I’ll get back to you.
This incessant need of of modern society for instant responses is bad.
Why?
Most of the time, I’m actually not even sure what my opinion is. This is why it is useful to let an idea sit and marinate for a long time. You gotta digest an idea for a long period before sharing what you really think.
Let your ideas distill. You don’t gotta answer immediately.
